I've raised several Crystal Wyverns in the past 24 hours and the only Primal crystals I needed were the ones they wanted for imprinting...and my maturation settings are considerably lower than what you are at.
You could just turn down their food consumption rate, to be safe. The setting, at default, is:
A lower number decreases (by percentage) the speed that baby dinos eat their food while a higher number increases it.
Also be mindful you don't need their food bar to be full...just keep it from being at 0. I think a lot of people over feed their babies because gamers tend to be OCD about filling bars....
1 food every 10 sec. means 306 food units depleted during the entire maturation process.
So if the food it hatches with is higher (or even slightly lower) then 306 it will be fine.
If you could let me know what the hatching food is and if it is affected by the level that woud be a huge help.
Also does the trick where you can change the imprinting task by cryopodding still work?
Edit: The food consumption multiplier is default.
Level appears like it may be a factor in what food level they are at when they come out of the egg, based on these 2.
One hatched at level 120 and had a food of about 1700 when it hatched, the other hatched at level 112 and had a food of about 1350.
They are currently at about 70% maturation and I haven't fed either of them. Still have over 1000 food level on both as well, so I'll make it adulthood without any feeding.
I'm running at maturation rate of x40 with no adjustment to the food consumption multiplier. (I do NOT use the single player checkbox, but I do play solo on my dedicated server, so I basically tweaked the baby maturation and breeding to be close to what that checkbox does).
Thx cus this is my first ever solo wyvern and i really didnt want to f it up.
Someone should put that info in the wiki btw, its gonna help a lotta people.
And does cryopodding to change the imprinting task still work?
I'd make a save backup of the world before hatching the egg, in your shoes, just to be safe...seeing as everything I've said has been about Crystal Wyverns not regular, and they aren't identical.
I don't know about the cryopod imprint trick, I've never done it. So far I've always been able to do any imprint task requested so haven't needed to.
Yep, I think so too. In your shoes I wouldn't be at all worried (but I'd still make a backup just in case.. haha)
That doesn't surprise me, that's what I experienced too when I first started playing and had the single player box checked.
The fix for it is to lower the BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier= setting in the ini file (there's a slider for that as well).
Single player checkbox sets it to BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier=0.167000 but even that isn't low enough for most dinos from what I experienced on single player. I set it to something like 0.03 before I was able to get imprints.
This is one of the reasons i actually stopped using single player checkbox.. haha
Unfortunately, changing that once the egg has hatched won't effect the timer that is already in progress on that baby....so you're kinda screwed for this one hatchling.
Just cheat for this one, and open the console and put in this code:
It's either that or lower the BabyCuddleInterval multiplier and get another egg.
