The updates for this game is the problem.
Right there with you. I have gaming speed DSL and Gaming computer yet they take FOREVER to download for this game I think some of this has to do with steam but still ridiculous
Lol, right? It's actually Steam's fault. The way that Steam updates it, it has to allocate everything before it compresses the files because most of the files are compressed and then extracted after install.
Yah, takes a long time for me to...comparatively to other games.
I think it's a combination of steam, and the massive compression that they use, and the game itself, with the zillion files involved and the fact that some of them are super large.
The two combined make the patches take forever, I believe....because downloading isn't what takes long, it's the long delay of waiting for it to decompress and install that takes a long time compared to other games.
Still takes less than an hour for a typical patch for me, so as an OLD gamer...this isn't really that long compared to what it took back in the day. But compared to most games...it's forever.
I have ark on a damn m.2 drive and this ♥♥♥♥ takes FOREVER, constantly gets stuck and generally is ♥♥♥♥♥.
I"m gonna call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because no other game I have takes this long to update with ARK's incessant daily updates.
