Map not rendering on a decent/good pc
My map often starts spacing out and doesnt render properly and becomes unreadable
Image of my map : https://imgur.com/a/4fK75AN
The map also becomes glitchy itself, there's ground on places where theres actually no ground and it lets me walk inside of it and see through the map , if that even makes sense lol not sure how to properly explain
Any way how to fix this ?

the term "good pc" is subjective..

texture loading issues are usually the result of a slow drive or some other form of bottleneck.. listing your specs would be helpful in ruling out such an issue..

Are you playing ark on SSD or HDD?
And what is your graphics settings?
abc Sep 7, 2020 @ 1:58pm
HDD , got a SSD but ark is a bit too big to have on my ssd
Everything on low except for world tile buffers which is on high and resolution scale almost all the way up
1280x720
low quality level streaming + color grading + simple distance character movement is ticked on rest is all off

i would venture to say that your HDD is the problem.. what speed is the drive? how old is it? how long since you did a defrag? what size is the hdd? all these factors can come into play when trying to load textures. just as a precautionary measure i would be verifying the game files before trying to diagnose hardware issues

For the sake of clarity, go to the steam help menu, click "system information", then copy paste that information here so we can see what steam is also detecting for your rig and any discrepancies.

Let's see what that shows and go from there.

Just bought the pc a week ago so defragmenting shouldnt be the issue , its a 1 TB hdd
Not sure about the speed ive 0 clue where i can find this nor did i even know HDD's have different types of speed , 931GB TOSHIBA HDWD110 (SATA ) is the HDD im using though

hmm.. fair enough. if the pc is relatively new and you haven't installed\removed much data from the drive then fragmentation shouldn't be the problem. the size shouldn't be an issue either since it's only a 1tb drive. larger drives have more latency due to being able to store larger amounts of data. i would imagine it's a 7200rpm drive since it's relatively new. older drives operated at 5400rpm and those drives are terrible for modern games.

so my recommendation at this point would be to verify the game files. if you still have issues after that i highly recommend you get a larger SSD to run ark from.

just a side thought what speed is your memory? ryzen can be crippled by lower ram speeds and since the cpu is responsible for sending data through memory to the gpu it's beneficial to have faster ram. there are tools that can show you what speed your ram is running at or you can just go to the bios and make sure xmp is enabled otherwise it will be running at ddr4 base speed which is bad for ryzen cpus

2133 MHz is the memory speed, had this same issue on my previous pc too though so im not confident that verifying would fix it but i will give it a try

Probably should of mentioned that this doesnt happen as i open the game, the mini map and actual map itself are totally fine on start up and randomly becomes buggy while playing , re starting the game fixes it but having to constantly restart my game would be pretty annoying

2133 is the base speed of ddr4.. it is considered extremely slow especially for ryzen cpus..

all these "bugs that never get fixed" you mention have never happened in the 1k+ hours i've played ark.. so to me that says it's a user end issue and not an issue with the game..

first i see it after my 2k+ hrs :)
your lack of knowledge dont mean im wrong.. it only mean u dont know about it
anyway, u can use google and google this bugs, or wait untill u see them.. its up to you, maybe u just need do some research and get some knowledge about this game? what do u think about it?

you played a game supposedly full of game breaking bugs for 2k+ hours? who's the fool now..

why would i google something if it doesn't concern me?

i have plenty of knowledge about this game and unlike you i don't need to blame the game for my own incompetence..
