Single Player Local Server: Dinos stop spawning after 70+ hours, SOLVED
This info may be old news to experienced players, but as a new player who only plays local/single player, this was a BIG problem for me. After some research, i found what appears to be a solution from VERY old discussions (2017 and before). If you're an old player, you may want to skip this thread.

So here is an updated thread to offer what appears to work for me, and to solicit CONSTRUCTIVE comments or additional information.

Background/Problem:
New player on ARK. Single player ONLY on local host server. Various server settings were modified, such as difficulty set to 1 to increase dino levels.

So, all good starting out... 60 to 70 hours later, moving back and forth between two bases where i have 10 to 15 tame dinos.

Problem: gradually there were less and less dinos spawning, until there were NO dinos at all spawning around BOTH active bases.

SOLUTION that appears to work as of this morning:
After a bit of research, i found some discussions several years old that address this problem.

1. enter prevent hibernation command in steam properties. steps follow:

Exit Ark.
-Right-click on Ark under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
-Under the General tab click the Set launch options... button.
-Enter -preventhibernation and click OK.
-Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

2. enter the following command into in game console.
admincheat destroywilddinos

3. Dino count slider at max or 1.

As noted above: CONSTRUCTIVE comments or additional information are welcome. the above is a rehash of existing information from several years ago, but the solutions still seem to work

SUGGESTION FOR DEV:
For a new single player, this is a game breaking bug if wild dinos don't spawn at all.

Fix this stupid bug. It's annoying that an problem like this still exists after being a known bug for several years and i have to spend my time finding solutions on the internet. Be sure that this lazy dev attitude toward a major bug will be noted in my review.

So FIX IT, PLEASE.

I am an old player but I am still appreciative to see a viable solution for a long-standing bug.

As a side note, prevent hibernation in single player can significantly degrade the performance and increase the loading time. Proceed with caution if one doesn't have an appropriate rig.

In order to re-enable hibernation if preventing it makes the game slow, one needs to do a wild dino wipe and exit the game before anything respawned.

You can enter DestroyWildDinos then hit enter and exit the game. When you start up again, wait about 5 minutes and your map should be re-populated.
