Transfer to Nitrado
Okay, so... have a few friends that want to play and with the rubberbanding in caves, plus not being able to play unless I'm on to host... I rented a server.

I was able to transfer over my files from my non-ded to the nitrado, so my base, tames and all that are still there..... theres just oooooone lil problem.

I cant access my host/starting character any more. When I logged in, I was forced to start a new character. I was able to make the run to where my base is and was actually able to see the floating title of my character, how far away she was from me and that she was sleeping.

So shes THERE... I just.... cant play as her. Its weird. I've tried everything I can think of:

-Connected from the dashboard
-Connected from Steam
-Connected on my non-dedicated server and uploaded the player data
-Copy/pasted over the local player data file into the server file through FileZilla

Notta. I completely forgot to add myself as the admin, so I've done that but havent yet started the server back up. If thats also a no-go..... anyone have any ideas?

yeah, when you transferred the ark world save, did you also transfer your .arkprofile that corresponds to your player?

It sits in the savedgames directory, and if you open it up in notepad, you will be able to confirm that the profile belongs to you.

If you have a tribe you wish to transfer, you will need to move the appropriate .arktribe file too

Yeah, thats the thing! I transferred EVERYTHING. All of those files are in that folder on the nitrado server.

then I would recommend you simplify the process.

You have the save world, user profiles, and the tribe profiles.
Just start over with a server installation and then move the world save and profile data files into the correct SavedGames folder.

I'm not sure how much more simple I can make it? Thats exactly what I did.

Files from my local were copied and pasted directly into the nitrado folders where they were supposed to be, including config and log.

yeah, I am not too sure what else I can suggest from this side of a forum.

Would screen shots help?

TBH, nitrado just went "yeah, we dunno" when I was chatting with them as far as getting everything transferred over went so I'm not expecting much help come tomorrow with my ticket.

Just seems nitrado is too lazy to fix it. The only other way i can think of is if you look at A tribe structure & use the command admincheat TakeAllStructure to give everything back to you & cheat the levels back with another command. For dinos it's GiveToMe I think? You'll have to cheat tame after to make it rightfully yours from what the wiki says.

You must rename the LocalPlayer.arkprofile to YourSteamID.arkprofile.

Oh! Well, that would make sense. Okay.

Now, dumbest question of the week... which and how do I find it?

I'm asking because I know there's the ID I can see and like 3 numbered ones you have to track down, but I can't seem to ever get the right one.

From what I gather I think ARK uses STEAM64 ID's. Yours for example is 76561199038876617 so you'll be looking for that specific save file/ID. If you want to find any other players ID you can use the site below. Just grab the players steam profile link and paste it into the Input section.

Thanks. I used that site, but it never seems to be right. The server doesn't recognize me as administrator when I use that number. :steamfacepalm:

It should be correct unless Nitrado does it differently? I use the same ID's for ASM (Ark Server Manager) and it recognises that. I did double check & that ID is yours (I used another ID finder website)

Quick google search shows this so unless you accidentally entered it wrong here's the wiki on how to make yourself admin which is below.

Yeah, I had used the nitrado wiki for the info but it doesnt seem to take it, but it seemed to have given me the wrong number. I'm going to look at it again and see. Fingers crossed this works this time around.

EDIT: Well, I'm back in my character!! [happy dancing]

But now I need to figure out the admin situation, cause thats not working. Unless I'm missing something still... as admin, I should have access to the admin panel when I hit ESC, yes?

At least you got your character back :D: I have no idea how Nitrado works with an admin panel, all I know is commands have to be entered in the console (tab) unless you have a special mod for it.

Commands I'm used to, thats no biggie at all. I have the Commander app as well for minor stuff but its getting access to the admin side that I'm stuck on. Still... I have my character!! lol

EDIT: So... I guess its reading me as admin, but I cant use any commands unless I'm using the Commander app... o_O
