Character model swap?

Would it be possible some how some way I could replace the human player model with a model/rag doll from Garry's mod? I've actually never moded before but would like to learn and maybe could start eithwith something simple ish. Any general tips or advice would be appreciated.

Using models from other content lines you up for copyright infringements.
You can make them *look* like other models... but... you have to make your own models from scratch.

Awe really? I mean what if i just did it on my own and didn't post it on steam. Also did artists have to pay or ask permission to make monster hunter mods, wolverine. And Godzilla creatures on here then? Same with Jurassic Park which is a huge franchise.

If you dont make it public... then yeah.

Monster Hunter got axed from the workshop for the same thing.... it is only available through private sources now

i wanna try to get an mblab model in, they import into most game engines fine, ark is built on a common game engine, so... maybe, and there's no copyright issues for the models it makes, just on the original templates, which aren't exported.
