(SPOILER) ice titan killing and taming

so they just showed off the ice titan, it wont be in the world but once someone does the cave run, it will be roaming in the over world for all to fight or tame just like a normal dino.you kill it or tame it with tek weapons and tek armor( mainly jet pack) because it does enough damage to insta kill rexes and kill a wild titanosaur in; from what i saw, about 10 hits once tamed.
killing it is the same as usual (although its shoot it till it dies instead of bite it till it dies, no timer so just get on the top of a mountain and snipe it from there)
taming it on the other hand requires you shoot and destroy the element nodes on its body (one appears at a time) till no ore nodes appear and it will be tamed and already have a platform tek saddle (which leaves you exposed on the very front below the platform in a tek chariot box.)
the less damae you do to the titan when destroying the nodes, the better version of the titan you can get ranging from alpha to gamma.
the titan is tamed for 5 days on pve and pvp (for now) but can be made permanent on singlplayer and non-offical servers.
only one of each titan can be tamed on a server at a time and they can be transfered to other servers but once a titan is transfered it only lasts for 1 hour and can never, ever, EVER be transfered again, it is stuck on the server its transfered to.

you dont need tek armor or tek weapons. if you watched the video, he was shooting it with an assault rifle.

well, the rifle would make it easier (especially since t seems according to the video that you can get quality tek items on extiction possibly) and being on the ground with it would be a death sentence (rip rexes and titanosaur) so a jet pack would be best unless you are sniping from atop a mountain.
you dont NEED tek weapons or armor but they make it ALOT easier. its like how you could use rockets to tame a titanosaur but cannon balls make it alot easier (with multiple people anyway)

rip a handful of fresh spawned low level rexes, I imagine an army of maxed out bred up super rexes will do the job, and it's not in an arena like previous bosses, so a titano with a base full of cannons on the back, a squadron of wyverns and an army of super gigas could be there too.

it killed a titano in 10 hits and took next to now damage from a wild corrupted giga, the island bosses kill breed rexes super fast and only do about 1k a hit, this thing seems to hit for 5k-25k atleast and is alot tankier, the devs (the creators of the game) themselves said that rex spam like for the normal bosses wouldnt work that well for them.

Sure it would be easier with tek, but still not required.

the island spider boss can hit for up to 5k-7.5k with that spit, so not 100% accurate. but i do believe boss rexes with good saddles can handle killing a titan. taming it would be more difficult.

wish they didnt reveal the taming mechanic though

thats just the spells spit/rock/fire attack bosses sometimes do for high damage, the damage i talked about the titan doing was just its normal attack, dont know how much that gigantic meteor of ice it shoots does.
anyway, i doubt rexes would be able to kill it because the devs said they would not be that good and i am just going by what the creators said.

The Ice Titan we saw was absurdly overpowered because it was spawned in at a super high level.
I think that when it was tame I saw the level at 1250, not sure if changed from before it was tamed.
So yea, any level 1250 boss would do that to unsaddled, weak rexes. What we saw was not in any way indicitive of its actual strength in combat.
Also, all the items they used were spawned in I think, and you have always been able to spawn in tek gear with quality. Unless it was a tek rifle that had quality, I don't think that them using higher tier tek means anything.

They said they spawned it the legit way by doing the cave run.

It didn't seem to matter what level it was, it wiped out about 10 to 12 spawned in and saddled rexes in one hit. Dinos are not the answer to Titans.

I wonder if that tame is for 5 real life days or 5 ingame days.
5 ingame days is a couple of hours, long enough to wipe a base or two.
5 real life days is long enough to wipe every living soul, every base, every other tame off a server.

Wonder how dinos with tek saddles would work. since it kinda combines the best of both. granted the damage on them seems mediocre at best but then again most tek weapons are as well in their current form. i really hope its a good challenge mostly!

the rexes spawned in where level 10-25 and they didnt have saddles.

the titan was spawned in legit it looked like.
