Baby Mature Speed
I set my servers' BabyMatureSpeedMultipliers to 5 thinking it'd take 1/5 as long as normal to raise a baby.

I hatched 5 dimetrodons and I believe my setting only saved 5% as it was still nearly 5 hours to go from baby to juvenile.

So to reach the goal I set for my players to have 5x everything I need to set BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier=500, right?

I just want to be sure. ASM will let me type in any value I want but the slider maxes at 10. It just makes me nervous that maybe I'm not understanding this correctly.

Could someone confirm that 5x speed, meaning 1/5 the usual time from hatching to maturity, would mean setting the value at 500?

Thanks! :steamhappy:

I think I recently read something about such multipliers only applying to eggs laid after they were set, could this explain your case?

The setting has been the same the whole time. When I set up the server I went for 5x everything, or so I thought.

Also the page on the wiki at http://ark.gamepedia.com/Server_Configuration says: "Higher number decreases (by percentage) time needed for baby dino to mature."

If the "by percentage" means what I think it does then 5x = 500%.

OK 500 can't be right either as when I logged in all my juveniles were adults already. LOL.

Maybe 50? That makes no sense. Set at 5 a baby took more than 4 hours (didn't time it precisely) and it's listed at standard speed as taking 4h 40m per http://www.survive-ark.com/taming-calculator/ .

I am so confused. :steamfacepalm:

Yup, that should be how it works... no leftover hiccup from the .ini wipe or such either? Other than that, I'm at a loss.

Is it possible ASM was showing it set at 5 but the INIs didn't reflect that? I know ASM has it's own profile folder. Could be that it doesn't read the actual INIs at startup? I verified that the setting went into game.ini properly when I adjusted it but not before that point.

Yes that's exactly how it works, BabyMatureSpeedMultipliers set to 2 is half the time, 3x is a third etc.
Works fine on my server this way, times are right and fit with the Dododex app.

OK ASM must have been misreporting the setting. Now I have to go read all the INI entries and see what else it's lying about.

Fun times!

I'm currently having an issue on SE where breeding times won't change period, this was before the latest patch too, was working fine on the island but once we switched map to SE anything breeding related wont register, taming multipliers, xp etc all work fine just breeding times, maturation etc and we are using the same rates as we used for the island. I've asked my host to take a look to see if they can spot anything wrong in my ini (have checked it over several times personally and dont see anything obvious) they said nothing wrong with the ini and they suspect something in the server cfg their end, so last few days they have tried "some changes" but still no joy.

Makes me wonder if something somewhere in the server cfg's are a little loopy?

I can tell you the setting applies fine from juvenile to adult. Setting 500 and restarting was instant adulthood! LOL.

But I was kind of surprised when I hatched the eggs at 3:something this morning and it was breakfast time (8:something) before they hit juvy.

That was set at 5 in ASM and I assume also in the INI.

I host my servers on my LAN so I have no third-party host to blame. Just Cliff Hudson listed on the ASM download page as its developer, Studio Wildcard (the game devs) and myself.

Sorry for the necro, but my Ragnarok server is experiencing the same thing. I have: MatingIntervalMultiplier=3.0
EggHatchSpeedMultiplier=5.0
BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier=5.0

But all eggs are sitting at vanilla rates... Any one have an idea? Running on Linux 18.04LTS using Linux GSM and manual .INI editing
