You didnt get any seriours answers, so heres mine

You need to download ARK devkit, avaible only on epic games launcher.
And you are ready! Err....You need to watch some tutorials, depending on what you want to do
If you want to make new creatures, you will need a rig,model and animations. Also some experience. You can use ARK assets or create your own using other modeling programs like blender, and animating programs like Maya (i think??). If you want to do creatures, i reccomend tutorials made by Garuga 123 , he is an experienced modder and made a lot of great mods.
Thats all* you need to know before diving in the devkit.

*Be wary of a LOT of gb devkit has, prepare for a massive download.
If you need more info, you need to google it as i didnt try the devkit.
