Is it still possible to get apexdrops by breeding creatures?

Hey there. I wanna make it easier to farm apexdrops like megalania toxin, spino sails, etc.

I thought I remember a point in time when you could farm this stuff by breeding dinos and then killing this stuff, but I just bred some allos and killed one and didn't get it's brain. Did they remove the feature from the game?

I know I can get toxin from megalania babies. I don’t think the others have drops.

As you might already know, wild dinos have the special drops (brains,arms etc.) in their inventories. Whenever a dino is tamed (im sure bred dinos too) get their inventory wiped (also for the time when they are knocked out). This way, the game prevents you from getting the drops too easily. It would work IF the drops were set as harvest, but since they are inventory, theres no way to get around it (i think).

You will need to kill wild dinos if you need the drops

Would be a bit broken if all you had to do was breed the dino's for those drops.

I have bred tek parasaurs for element dust. I don't claim them, just let them grow up and kill them. I don't know about allos but I do know that you don't get a brain every time you kill a wild one. That might be a reason.

As Pentalnia said the items in the inventory are different from harvesting the dino's. Getting element dust from the tek beast is still harvesting it.
