Vehicles won't work for ARK.
Either they outperform animals with similar tasks, making the animals pointless. Or they will be worse at it, making the vehicles pointless.
Animals can be bred and leveled up. so even if they are initially weaker they can surpass the vehicles. Making it pretty worthless to invest in vehicles when you can breed animals that are better.
However i would enjoy the prospect over overturning people in a buggy/truck and then rip their vehicle apart with a rex or giga.
most of the terrain is too rocky for something like cars or offroaders thats why nobody uses the tekbuggy.
wyverns, griffons, mana go across a map pretty darn fast.
itchys and mosas can travel the water quite fast.itchy with speed stat is basically a water rocket.
frogs, prodoptocons, and a few others can travel land quite fast too.
I don't think we'll ever see many traditional vehicles like motorcycles, trains, planes, or anything. They're adding at least one new vehicle in the next dlc, no idea how exactly it'll work though.
The atv doesn't work well and is unlikely to be changed considering how long it's been in the game.
And the mek
The same can be said about literally anything they add to the game. It can be better or worse than other things, or it can serve a different purpose than other things. Further, it's ok for something to be better or worse than something else, so long as the barrier to get that thing is proportionally easier or harder. A tek hovercraft platform would outclass a quetzal, and there's not necessarily anything wrong with that so long as the requirements to get the theoretical hovercraft are higher than the requirements to get a quetzal.
Both of these are good points. They could take the Extinction approach and let you get stronger blueprints for higher levels of the vehicle though.
