So leave all your best weapons, armor, and harvesting equipment in the base?
yeah, that's pretty simple....
Personally i take time out of my ark routine to deliberately get on my fire wyvern and wipe the beaches clear of them, just to see them turn into little flaming meteorites.
You are right, its pretty simple. Its one of the most basic rules of all survival games. You WILL die and lose your stuff at some point. If you cant replace it, save it for really important occasions.
But only for important occasions that don't take place outside your base, right?
If you can't survive with or without your best gear, you haven't learned how to survive.
Its that simple.
No, but i save my best stuff for caving or raiding, for example. I dont wear my best armor or weapons when i farm. I use stuff that i can afford to lose for those things.
1. check the bear. it may have your stuff
2. have some berries on you against pego
3. have some narcotics or just meat in single stacks, for the seagull
4. travel on therizino, megatherium etc (bigger dinos) and then the seagull ignores you, and the pego cannot reach you to steal. i saw that if you are high enough on a dino, it will just attack but not steal.
5. have a flock of dimorphodons follow you and be vigilant. destroy every pego and seagull you see. if they are dead they cannot steal, and the satisfaction of killing them is real.
hope it helps.
Either it is still in the dead pegomastax corpse - after you've hunted it down.
Or it is inside a loot bag.
or it is inside your tame, you were riding at that point.
Or you have it in your own inventory, after you killed it.
I never got anything unrecoverably stolen from a Pegomastax.
The Ichthyornis is far worse, because it can destroy consumable stuff and in the beginning - the bird also ate your weapons, unrecoverably.
It took Studio Wildcard quite a long time until they actually realized this issue.
Basically an unkillable pest for players bellow the trike saddle.
