im on a rag server, that is a boosted (15x i think) PVP server, with active owner/admins, only 7 mods, so nothing crazy. pretty good small community so far, server is only like 3/4 weeks old.
Could I grab the name of that server? I might give it a go once the download's done. It's going to be about a week or so before I can play, though.
If anyone wants a casual friend to play with, add me on steam. I juggle ark with personal commitments and I have discord as well so we can have a bit of fun and build up together.
(Don't add me if you are an autistic teenager, adults only)
Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.
Yeah, a big part of my reluctance to come back is finding a decent PvP server with good admins. I loathe starting over from scratch (Ark's level grind is outright carcinogenic on anything remotely resembling default rates), and as Vesuvius has pointed out the population of my corner of the world is fairly small. I've yet to have a genuinely good experience with the game that hasn't involved a private server or borderline unplayable lag >.<
not that it stops it (only reduces it) go into steam options and change server search settings where you set the maximum ping search, i limit mine to 250ms and still get servers popping up with 1000ms+, but like i said, i get less after changing this setting (this means faster searches for servers)
put a few servers into your favourites the first time you search for servers, this will allow you too come back to the fav's menu and not have to search again for every server again, that way if you do not like the one you are on, its easy to get onto another one you liked.
also, when joining servers with mods, the game will most likely say "connection time out" this means the timer ran out for you too connect while the mods had not yet downloaded or installed. have the steam downloads window open so you can watch the progress of the mods coming in, simply head back too the main menu (in game) until the mod that was currently downloading is finished then try too connect again, it will work every time.
Go to battlemetrics.com and search there... then you can see ALL servers with zero lag. ...server activity.... server age etc... and you can join directly from battlemetrics.
Arkservers.net for example is a different story as it requires the admin to register their server.
He is running Atlas grid instead.
Seems counter intuitive perhaps given the much more finite numbers currently playing that game but if he's perhaps one of the only AU servers then he may be fortunate for numbers I suppose.
