Friends can't find my dedicated server.
Well, at this point I am completely stomped. I have been search through all kinds of forums to figure this out. We can play a non-dedicated just fine but not dedicated. I have forwarded 7777,7778,27015,27016,4380, and 27036. These are all the port I have seen mention in the last few hours. I can join it fine. When I try to send an invite the them it starts the game but doesn't go anywhere after that. I can only see it in Lan. I've tried some sites to see if it's online but it doesn't show anything. I tried to use the asm and that didn't make anything different. We tried joining through steam and that also didn't work. It only said not responding.
Anyone know how to fix this? Or know whats going on

So you forwarded those ports, but what ports did you configure it to use?

You forwarded the ports but for what IP address? You gotta forward your ipv4 address and the correct ports for it. Simply forwarding ports won't allow them access.

Make sure you assign the IP for your host machine in the settings.

Use ipconfig to find out what machine you are. For example;
My modem/router is 192.168.0.1
The machine I am on now is 192.168.0.6

if you use the standard configuration, 7777,7778,27015,27016 are UDP ports.

Just throwing it out there but I don't see my dedicated server in the unofficial list unless I set a static IP on the machine that runs my server. By default it has a dynamic IP and unless I set it to static I can only see it in the LAN list.

not an expert but maybe try to use dmz with your machine ip just to test that its not a port forward problem, if dmz dont solve it then its not a port forward problem, if dmz does solve it then you need to match the ports to your the server setting.

As above said, did you port on both, your windows firewall and your router?
Last time i tried running a ded server that was all i needed to change, didn't touch dynamic or static ip.
What map? If DLC do your friends have it downloaded, installed, and have tested that they can enter that particular DLC map?

You misunderstood my comment. I have no problems running my dedicated and having it published on the unofficial server list. I was replying to OP not posting a problem.

I must ask...
you can join your own server just fine, right?
How do you join that server? Via LAN IP?
If you do that, your friends cannot see the server, because all they get from Steam Friends is 192.168.0.6, thats a private network IP.

You will have to either join your own server via your internet-IP or have your friends add your internet-ip to their steam server browser favorites. And they need to join the server that way.

But if you want, you can join my ARK servers, they are so quiet these days. You're also granted admin privileges if you want.
If ya interested, contact me...

I'm not really a pro at this so I guess I could have done this all wrong. Could you explain how to do this exactly?

I really have no idea how to get this up and running and I may have done all this wrong. I can join my server from LAN. But it doesnt show in unofficial. If someone has the time could you please walk me through the steps to get this working properly
