I've noticed this in the game settings and I'm aware this means baby dinos want to be tended more often, but does this mean we can use this to make imprinting rise faster with more attention or does it just mean we have to work with them more to increase it?

If the latter, does that mean imprinting gains are proportionally larger to how infrequently we cuddle them, I.E can we set it to almost never and instantly max out the imprinting bar with one swoop? I have maturation speed cranked up and want to be able to max imprint everything in proportion to it one way or the other.

Depending on what your maturation is, is what you set interval to. Official is 8 hour imprint interval, so you convert 8 hours to minutes, 480. Say you want every 10 minutes, so you divide 10/480 and that gives you your value for the interval. Not all dinos mature at the same rate, so you have to experiment to be able to get full imprints on all dinos. Having maturation really high, you should consider using Super Structures or Structures Plus mod and use the Nanny to auto imprint. Otherwise, you may have to base sit for 3 to 6 hours and imprint every 10 minutes. Lowering grace period does help with some dinos but not all.
