Rates are fine it's busted scaling on alpha missions making a lot uncompletable as solo, therefore making alpha boss inaccessible. Watched X-Raptors in one mission eat 55K hp, 1300 melee rexes in 96 asscended saddles in seconds. They chew alpha bosses and spit them out, against alpha raptor hunt mission they were doing 35 dmg a hit and taking 650 per hit.
Plus no access to rates as it is on server I have no control over.

Yeah, for sure. They need to fix the difficulty scaling with the amount of players. The more players, the harder it is, but the better loot you get

Genesis is fine. I love it. I wouldn't waste any time or effort on Missions though because the returns on that time and effort are inconsequential.

.... The entire point of Ark is to survive while progressing through Ascension. The island, Aberration, Extinction, and Genesis. You have to defeat the Alpha variant of each boss on each of these maps to gain Ascension and see the story of why you were even there in the first place. I get some people do not care at all about this, but to me the only reason to breed a dinosaur is to make them strong enough to shred these bosses. It's not animal crossing for me. They are weapons/tools and the only way that they get better is via breeding.
The missions HAVE to be completed in order to access the boss arena. So the missions to me are no more a waste of time than diving to the bottom of the ocean, or delve into a dangerous cave full of predatory carnivores in order to get 1 part of the key that unlocks those arenas. The problem is they have a 7.5 division on our damage and a 3x multi on the Alpha mission dinos damage output and they also gain 30% damage reduction on top of the 7.5 division on our damage. This basically means unless you are cheating or on a unofficial server without a 20x multiplier to tamed dino stats they will be melted in seconds, 2000+ durability armor is shattered in 2 hits, and as a person without a 10 man clan+ you will never get past beta on about 65-70% of the missions Genesis has.

oh yeah, Genesis itself wasn't made easy.

Alpha missions were designed only for Gigas IMHO. The brutes.... the brutes are impossible though.... I brought 2 gigas with 64 base melee and 65 levels in melee with 250 armor saddles (full imprint). They both died in the first skirmish on the brute. He killed them both while he only took around 15% damage.

I'm all for difficulty, but giving dinos 20X damage and resistance multipliers are just horrendous for the game. I understand it's supposed to be hard, but there's a line they crossed that just doesn't make sense.

I stopped playing Genesis after about a month of it's release. It's pretty mediocre with terrible artificial difficulty strapped on. Level design is S tier, but the balance team is probably from Riot games....

Also, good luck doing the tek giga on alpha! I heard you have to cheese it or it's literally impossible.

No go try and solo like "Bog Beat Down" on alpha where it gives you 2 minutes and a spear to defeat a arena full of dinos with a flint spear and then nerfs your personal dmg output by dividing it by 7.5 and then 3x the wild dmg and gives them all 30% dmg mit

Hehe i already tried that one, nope... That was no fun. I gave up after instantly dying.

For the Hunt Missions, you're taking a hammer to a knife problem. Shed those rexes, pick up some basilisks. I've heard they ignore the damage resistance granted to your targets. When the target comes over, burrow and let your allied take over dealing damage. As for Gauntlets, yeah, they're totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ out the ass. Only way I've done any Alpha or Beta gauntlet is by exploiting.
