I heard they were only eating rock drake eggs, and that the golden egg thing was just filler on the wiki till they got new info in.

Maybe your trap is the problem. To get Titanoboa and Basilisk to eat eggs they usually need a lot of moving room and no wild dinos around or they go agressive on structures or dinos instead of eating.
i tried that to without a trap but that didnt work either

Turns out they don't eat rock drake eggs. Golden eggs from the hesperornis is the best to use
they dont spawn in aberration...... and i saw in videos that rock drake eggs work but that is really buggy

They should be using the same system that titanboas use. But I never tamed one, so I don't know how effective it is.

no hesperonis in aberration, but they DO eat rock drake eggs. I tamed a lvl 68 basilisk with a single rock drake egg. It ate it and insta-tamed. Dropped the egg, ran on a raptor with it after me past the egg, and it stopped to eat the egg

i'm on single player, and use no mods or adjustments beyond the sliders that are available when starting a singleplayer server

so i have the slider for taming speed slid up to max, whatever that translates to. But i play vanilla game, with some sliders adjusted to make singleplayer feasible (and i'm pretty sure the slider max is nothing as insane as 100x)

edit: The slider says 3.0 in the menu

If its using the same system as titanboa then traps may not work out so well, as they go into an agro state and wont eat. Just like if u drop in an equus into a pen for taming, u need to leave render range and come back for them to calm down.

Best to do it in the wild for snakes.

you got it ticked to use single player settings as well? think that modifies taming speed as well

There is also an option for single player mode which jacks up the rate on top of the slider btw, so it may be well above 3X

just double checked wiki if he has that ticked along with max taming speed slider he'll be on 7.5x taming speed
Jynn 17 DIC 2017 a las 13:27
Ah okay, i see! I do have that checked.

So on 7.5 speed, if wiki is correct, then a single rock drake egg works on a lvl 68 basilisk. If that gives you any frame of reference for your settings
DrathDragoon33 17 DIC 2017 a las 13:47
Personally I keep that unchecked and adjust my sp stats as needed. Their recommendations have never been good anyway. *Cough* official servers *cough*

if it's the same as the boa just get on a flyer above them and drop the egg.
be sure you did NOT aggro or it will not eat.

use a rock drake it 100% works, its how i tamed mine, just throw it on the ground then kite the snake towards the egg then run as far as you can very quickly. When it forgets about attacking you it will go for the egg.

edit: in other words it cant be aggro AND eat the egg, so cage it or something then leave the egg there.
