mods stuck installing in Ark menu

So i re installed ark, deleted all my mod folders/files - unsubbed etc. and re subbed after ark re installed...

and now when i open the game, it says 11 mods installing.. for hours.. i even check the file manager and they r all there- so.. any advice? i have all the mods for the server im trying to join and it gives me mod mismatch or time out every single time.. other ppl r on the server. Thanks for your time!!

Just going to have to bite the bullet and wait for it to finish 'installing mods' on the menu screen. Only thing that you can do honestly. Not sure what it does when it does that but it does something in game in regards to the mods, some extra step that surpasses the files being in the folders.

i get what ur saying.. but these r really small mods that ive downloaded before just like im trying to now, or installed.. i left it there for 3 hours and it never went down .. 11 mods installing, and it was stuck on a super small like 0.5 mb kibble mod..

usually it will say certain number of mods installing (then in here it was say what mod its currently on..) like "11 mods installing (kibble... )" i left it there 3 hours and it neve got to "10 mods installing " i have unsubbed deleted all folders/files and resubbed, etc..

whats weird is.. when u subscribe to a mod, doesnt it download in the steam window as well as the in game ark menu? cuz everytime i subscribe, after i re installed.. it doesnt say updat ark workshop.. just nothing but once im in game it recognizes how many mods im tryn to install here :/ ...

another thing, ill keep the ark menu open, like the game itself once i "play" .. it opens just fine.. then i let it sit there cuz its "installing mods" and then ark just closes.. with no crash report/logs.. it just closes.. i kept doing it over n over , trying to open the game and stay in the menu and fnially it gave me a crash log..

so weird :/ i doubt anyone gonna have the "fix" for my specific issue.. im really posting just to see if this has happened to anyone else, how they handled it, etc...

Yeah I've had it cause issues for me before. Mostly I just close ark and then open it again if it's taking to long (This tends to be counter productive for me sometimes though). My computer has hard drive issues(it's dying on me) and it's got an old processor so sometimes things for me take an extra long time to do even the simplist of tasks. Don't know if that might be part of your problem or not. If it's been a long time since you defragged your computer maybe that could help it go by faster. Other then that most I can say is to leave it up, if it doesn't finish within an hour close it and then open and try again. Another thing to look at is see how much HD space you have left and what is being used for your Virtual memory cause if you're down to the last bit left you have on your hard drive that's going to cause you some problems too, doesn't have as much space to work with to move files from A to B to eventually C if you know what I mean. At least from what I understand of the subject. I only know just enough to trouble shoot and get my computer to function somewhat decent so I could be wrong on these possible methods to help you out but it can't hurt to try and find ways to get your computer to run faster on it's own.

omg it went down, from 11 to 10 down to 1 :D no idea how or why lol just the most glitchy buggy game ever lol i did what u said and kept just tryn to re open it and finally it actually installed them, or at least told me that haha

i just defragged before i re installed ark lol but yeah that def helps! even a simple clean up for ur disk space .. and thanks for the tip on the hard drive! i def have low space issues, so prob whats going on here.. when i installed the ne wupdate for abberation is said 13gb, and i had 88gb free.. and it stopped half way thru saying not enough room lol and i was then down to half a gb LOLlike wtf!

I think last update broke somthing i have the same problem with getting stuck on update manu for last 2h.

This happened to me, here's how I fixed it:
1. Exit ARK and restart Steam
2. Verify ARKs files (It'll take a while since it's insanely huge)
3. Steam should now discover that the mod files are missing and start downloading them, it was trying to endlessly extract/load non-existant mods in game.
4. If your Steam downloads get stuck at "100%" (like mine did) i.e. 10.0GB/10.0GB, then once again restart Steam. It should now be able to load the mods.

Unfortunately, this does remove any mod content you had on your worlds, but I don't think it's fixable and still able to keep everything you had.

Well i changed the name of the mod folder removed all old favorite servers i dont play anymore reverified the game it downoaded about 2.3gb of damaged files and then it turned on no problems. now just downloading mods from the server i curently play and hopefully it will be all fine

I fix this issue by going to Steams download page. Every time this happens to me I find it's actually steam not downloading the mod, Just queing it up. So just check your downloads page to make sure the mod isn't stuck in a que. That's how I fix it at least.

A big mod was probably updating. I noticed before that the mod listed is not the one it is currently installing because it was listing S+ for a while even though the count went down, and it was installing mod maps instead.

Crashed AGAIN.. this is getting ridiculous. I pay thousands of dollars and give thousands of my hours to run and admin a very popular ark server (600 in steam group- we were 4th on toparkservers.com community servers page, 4th most votes.. but we lost our votes when we took a break over the summer - almost 150 active members in discord.. were rank 40 (out of 27,000 servers) the entire time weve been up this Fall.. until ofc Ark Devs screwed EVERYTHING up, without a second thought about it! servers had to be up ndown up n down, all week ever since the huge abberation update.. and now were rank 1000-2000 and have lost players who are just sick and tired of Ark itself. they uninstalled Ark :/ THANKS ARK DEVS!

Its us server owners that give soooo many Ark players a place to play when they are sick and tired of Official.. and do we get any recognition? nope! we pay to host the server, sponsor the server so its easy for ark players to find it, then put our time into to keep it balanced, rules enforced.. make sure theres zero admin abuse (why me n my husband r the only admins, we dont want to risk anyone messing up and abusing being admin, so we just put in even more of our time.. )

And these Ark devs just do not care, what so ever. I bet if i was like some of those ark server owners who do 100% pay to win, and probably put some of that $ in the Devs pockets.. then just maybe then they'd give a ****... oh well..
