Gems? What to do with them?

As stated in the title. I have been collecting them, but I have no idea what to do with them. One is even an Element Gem. Do I grind them, heat them, craft them into anything?

You need them to craft element at the charging nodes you find around the map. They're required for some other crafting recipes as well. For more details, check out https://ark.gamepedia.com/Gem.

the gem´s are used to be for the new items, also to craft element as @Jutka says. You need Red Gem´s for the Gas Collector, Blue and Green for Saddles and Equipment.

Green gems and crystal also make the glow sticks.
