Nameless ~ Reaper Kings
Okay so I've managed to travel quite far into the map and I'm in an area that is completely lit up blue ~ very beautiful I might say. However, I'm trying to transition into the area out of the forest and I'm constantly getting jumped by "Nameless" which keep unendingly spawning and take highly reduced damage from all sources.

I can deal with 20 or 30 of them but when it reaches around 50 or 60, they turn into Alphas and then spawn a Reaper King which was only level 16 and was hitting up to 1,671 on my Stone building.

I had a level 244 Ravager with 13,300 health and 1,071% Melee and 2 other Ravagers + a Carnosaur all maxed out around level 180 to 250 and were hitting this level 16 Wild Reaper King for 42 to 60 per hit with 1,000% Melee. The level 16 Wild Reaper King killed all of my Dinos because it takes like 90% reduced damage from Dinos and Is constantly being spawned by the unending spawns of Nameless who keep spawning it and It's camping my Stone Base.

I'm literally unable to do anything except keep exploring and getting killed by the same creatures because they're endlessly spawning. I read up on the Wiki about how Nameless don't usually spawn if there is light, however I had 12 S+ Torches lit 24/7 @ maximum density on the flame setting, and they were still spawning even after I surrounded my base with Torches.

I'm unable to locate ANY Silica Pearls after about 7 hours into the expansion so far, so I can't build a lantern to help defend against these. I'm honestly unsure of what to do, nothing I tame can kill a Reaper King because they take like 90% reduced damage and hit like a truck even at low levels, it's basically a Mini Wild Giga but takes reduced damage.

P.S don't misinterpret my post to be a complaint on how challenging the expansion is, I love a challenge and this expansion is the most challenging yet, however I don't exactly consider endless spawning creatures to be challenging, It's kind of more ...of a nusance or annoyance.

Any Tips?

I'll post some Screenshots to clarify what I'm going through even though I'm sure I am not the only one having this issue.

Hey man! This guy has a few really valuable tips. Around 3:40 he gives you advice on dealing witht the Nameless. Hope it helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7OoGOSLgwI

You can find plenty of silica pearls in the lake that's in the Bioluminescent biome, it's surrounded by trees. You need to craft that charge lantern as you mentioned, for them to not bother you!

Have in mind that runs on batteries, meaning you'll have to make often trips to a charging node.

The light the Nameless hate is no ordinary light. Its tha light that glows from pugs, fireflies and other small critters. This is charge, and Reapers lose their entire defense when charge is nearby.

@Shockal I do understand this, which is why if you look in my screenshots you can see my Bulbdog's light is definitely on, but again that doesn't seem to have any effect as they keep spawning unendlesly.

Silica pearls are in the biggest lake in easy zone.

Nameless + reapers are normal thing in blue/red zone

Try leveling the emission range of your bulbdog, so it covers a bigger area (to block off their spawn range).

In my experience, the charge-light does indeed completely remove their defenses, BUT, as you say @Gagnonr01 the Nameless still keep spawning around me. I suspect you need a wider charge-light range (can be leveled on at least Bulbdogs afaik), but I haven't gotten to test it yet.

I see, the problem was after leaving the Portal [Easy] spawn area, I was constantly chased by Karkinos and Sarcos, Ravagers, etc. To the point where I fled so far away and didn't really have time to stop and look around, I ended up in the blue area which I think is called the Bioluminescent zone, to which is exceedingly difficult compared to the starter zone (which by the way was also pretty difficult as I had to keep running).

I'll try to head back and see if I can manage to grab some pearls from this lake, hopefully that'll make the blue area less challenging.

Thanks for the help

I do appreciate everyone's help by the way, this is a nice constructive post with a lot of helpful information, It's nice to see threads like these still exist! ;)

- spawn at portal zone
- go outside
- look at big lake with ruins in center of it
- dive
- collect pearls

also
light from pugs, glowhorns, etc. is helpful against nameless (one pug is not enough, if you understnd what i mean)

another "cool" aspect about nameless/reaper is the following:

storage page now says:

"Capture and tame fourteen new creature types with amazing abilities! Clamber up walls & glide through the air on a self-camouflaging Rock Drake’, keep the dark at bay with one of four friendly ‘Lantern Pets’, or grab and toss multiple creatures simultaneously with a massive ‘Cave Crustacean’, or -- if you are brave enough - allow the horrific "Reaper Queen" to impregnate you, and spawn a vicious male Reaper alien lifeform you can tame and control."

while before it said:

"The intense radiation of Aberration has led to incredible genetic mutations, resulting in new creatures with amazing abilities! Among others, clamber up walls & glide through the air on the back of a camouflaging chameleon-like ‘Rock Drake’, keep the dark at bay with a friendly ‘Lantern Pug’, grab and toss multiple creatures simultaneously with a massive ‘Cave Crustacean’, or -- if you are talented enough to tame one -- command the vile ‘Nameless Queen’ to impregnate your foes with a horrifying reproductive chest-burster!"

noticed how they changed the store page, after dlc was released?
false advertising! you have every right to be upset!!

" if you are talented enough to tame one -- command the vile ‘Nameless Queen’ to impregnate your foes with a horrifying reproductive chest-burster!""

1) you can not tame the nameless (renamed to reaper) queen
2) you can not command the nameless (renamed to reaper) queen
3) you can not impregnate your foes with the nameless (renamed to reaper) queen
4) chest bursters are non-breedable = not reproductive
