What is the difference in Story Arks and the others?

I plan on playing single player because I don't have the time to really commit to an online community, so I was curious what map would be the best? What do the Story ARKs contain that the others do not? Thanks!

The 'story' starts on the island map, then continues on the Aberration map
The Center and Ranarok do not have any story yet (they are free DLC and might never)
They said they will add a story to scorched earth, but who knows when and it would be 3rd or 4th in the chain of stories)

The Ranarok map is a lot of fun tho, but I recommend starting on the Island

um dude i belive ARK's story starts on the island, then goes to scorched earth and then to aberration....but i wont spoil who aberration's boss is cause ive seen a video of it and good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god is it horrifying

The center does have a story, its based on the novel journey to the center of the earth and the story is your journey to the center of the earth. It was more fulfilling before everyone figured out flyers were the end all to this game before the nerf.

Rag is the world from shrek. No im not kidding. Shreks entire swamp hut and surrounding areas are in game as is the royal castle, etc..

It doesnt have a built in story, with explorer notes and all that, but rather its based off the novel and subsequent films "journey to the center of the earth". In essence the "story" of The Center is your survival, exploration and than mastery of this map.
