Bad textures in the distance
Hey,

Just built my new PC and i have played a bit with the settings of ARK (vanilla)
Havent played in a few weeks but used to run this pretty good on my Alienware laptop. Graphics are great, i`ll attach some pics. BUT some types of trees look jagged and dinoes/other objects looks bad further away, and the contrast between whats close to you (amazing) and whats 50+ meters away is insane.

Ive tried to reset resolution as this has fixed some issues before, and played with all settings of the game and the gpu. (no improvement turning off distant field shadow and distant ambient occulsion)

Anyone got a fix for bad graphics at a bit of range? Only thing i noticed is that at first startup my game looked bad at fullscreen so currently im running windowed fullscreen, can switch to fullscreen without improvement.

All settings maxed out. No motion blurr and dynamic tesselation.

I7-9700K
RTX 2080 8GB (latest driver)
32GB RAM

No high temps, running 70-100 FPS on max settings.

Put your textures on epic. That should help. Also, when loading in, wait a few sec before moving, so the game can load in.

I have all scalable settings on epic.

Everything in the distance has always been that way. Nothing you can do about.

check that you're not using any command line options

check that you're running the game on dx11

check all are on epics and you're using all graphics options ( checkboxes second column on graphics settings)

No command lines
Must be running DX11, DX10 looks worse
All settings on EPIC

It seems to me that there must be a issue with resolution. The screen seems zoomed.
I have tried adjusting the fov but still i have a feeling of being to close to whats in front of me.

Ive had the same issue with resolution and detail scaling. The game looked bad on everything Epic 1440p full screen but when put on border-less windowed it was ok. As sad as it is, I think the only solution is to roll back to an older NVidia driver. The 20's cards are bugged with Ark anyhow (set shadows to low or you will start getting BSOD- NVidia acknowledged the fault officially and are 'working on it'). Roll back is the only way currently as far as I know.

What resolution are you playing on and also how big is your monitor?

Thanks for the tip.

Im running 1920x1080 resolution in game, this is also the screen size
