The best question is why are there caves in the game?
P.S. checked and I did have "force allow cave fliers" turned on, so it isn't that
Combine these with a ton of hard-hitting, high-hp high level mobs and...well...you're gonna have a bad time.
Considering the horrible hit rating atm with Mek's i dont think thats a good idea, a Rex, Theri or giga get ingnored by quite a few creatures in there if memory serves me well.
for rex only yeti and polar bear attacked me so yeah their also good if you use a decent one ..... and yeah meks hit box is annoying atm but if you get used to its offset you can still land hits pretty well our just jet past enemies if you mind your heat and land on rocks.
Vultures and Dimos fit in the path -1 at a time usualy-lead a small Army of them and win the Ice Cave with ease!
We are talking about the ice cave on extinction, its big enough that you can walk a giga into it :)
My guess would be because harkening all the way back to tabletop rollplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons, players have expected open world adventure to be punctuated and accented with enclosed "dungeon" encounters with bosses and increased danger and rewards. Caves would be Ark's version of this gaming trope so old it predates the personal computer.
Well, if it's big enough to take dinos in...use an army of rexes or similar heavy-duty dinos, I guess?
