Large Taxidermy base building

So if I'm correct, I have to spend all my leveling points or most of them to be able to build the large base? As I can't fit the mats in my inventory by a long shot.

No, you don't need to spend any points to weight to be able to build a large base. Use gacha to get crystals with stone and fungal wood, then pick up ingots and thatch, then unpack gacha crystals. This way you can craft large base even with 100 weight.
