why must i keep downloading steam through steam to play crystal isles..doesnt work
i downloaded 6 gigs allready..
says i must still download the map to play
when i click play it takes me to some download page from steam.
download map.

but it is allready installed..cant join a server...yet i see them all..official or unofficial

all dlcs must be downloaded because normally there is a cost tied to them

you dont understand..when i click play..on crystal isles..it takes me through steam page to download the map...then when i click download it says download steam or you have it allready installed....i obviosly have steam and the map allready installed...so it is not working at all..when i click play on the island it loads my map

go to rightclick ark /properties/dlc and make sure crystal isles is checked

you said you downloaded the map based on a 6gb download ,the map is 20gb minimum so try to download it again or verify gaming files , because if you are send to the storepage you dont have crystal isles installed for sure

i did do a verify ..somehow fixed it..
same problem on 2 computers...there definately is something wrong with this game or steam servers...
when i swiched ark off ..i got massive fatal error files diplayed on screen.

but my island ,map works...so there is a problem with the crystal map or with steam not registering i downloaded it

damn thats weird ,i personally didnt have issues with crystal isles ,but a friend of mine did have major issues aswell might be a steamissue and the way stuff is getting downloaded.
Luckely verifying helps in most cases but what you are experiencing might be something else , if you want better recommendations you might want to copy-paste the error you are experiencing in a new discussion.

so yes.....after re-downloading the map..and getting onto a server...in the chat ..as others said the same thing..they also had to redownload the map and redo verifying....so it is definately a steam issue not remembering that we all ready downloaded it
