I get your choice. Why pay for a game you can get for free. But the price you pay is dealing with Epic Games instead of Steam.
I think there is a way to make the game visible in your Steam library. But it will allways use Epic Games as its launch port. Much like some games you launch trough the Steam library but still open Uplay when you do.

The Steam overlay should work as it has been running on Steam all this time, so Steam Friends will work and you'll be able to take screenshots and add those to your Steam account.
If the Steam overlay doesn't work yet, I'm sure the develops will sort it out soon enough.
Like I said you can make the game VISIBLE in your Steam library. But it still wont be a Steam game. Just a shortcut. Steam even explains this in the very page you posted.
''This will only add a shortcut to your game in the Steam client. This will not allow you to download updates for your game through Steam, nor allow you to use this game as proof of ownership for your Steam account.''
yeah i guess it is "you get what you dont pay for" =D
but im happy with just making the game visible in steam =)
any of you knows where to find it?
ShooterGame.exe (Application)
-Add Non-Steam Game
-Select Epic Games Laucher
-Stonks
What about mods duh? Only Officials or non-Officials with NO mods. Have fun finding those on your EPIC-Launcher.
There is a reason, why Steam is one of the best launchers out there.
Not everyone wants to play modded servers. In fact the vast majority of players play single player, not on servers at all.
