Epic Games and Steam crossplay?

I own ARK on steam, and my friend has it on Epic Games. Can we both play together on an unofficial server? Or is there even crossplay?

Ya there is cross play if I read right earlier mate you should be able to cross play on unofficial unmodded servers. So you both should be able to play together and good to go. Have fun mate.

Yes if:

Official
Unofficial unmodded and with the setting allowing epic players to play on the server.

Its not possible for epic games users to play on modded ark yet, they don't have the ability to add mods right now which means they cant join servers with mods.

And yet the majority of the player base do not inanely pedestal official servers and instead play unofficial ones.

There are more than 50x the number of unofficial servers to that of the official(and legacy combined mind you) ones.

ok wait cant you just click add game in steam at bottom left then click on the epic games ark and add it it should allow mods

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that just makes the game executable via the Steam launcher. I doubt it would allow you to add mods because it's still owned from Epic Games

EGS cannot access Steam Workshop since they're both obviously separate launchers. Not to mention EGS has the most basic of features to exist. One of them being people coming onto the steam forums since EGS doesn't even have that..

For those wondering how to host a dedicated server. I think someone mentioned above about ASM (Ark Server Manager) there's a few tutorials online on how to get one running (great program btw). Just add to your .bat launch file or somewhere in ASM where you can tell it to add custom launch parameters -crossplay & you should be good. Just keep in mind you CANNOT use mods otherwise only steam users can join. There's currently no way to get mods working until WC sort it out.

Use -crossplay on your unofficial server as command line arguement, eg. in ASM.

Hello, I have been trying to find out if now 2021-06-06.
Are we able to play on modded steam servers using the epic games ark?
Also, how do we join those servers? As my friend would pick a server from steam ark, I look in my list of servers for the epic games ark and not being able to see any servers that he sees...
