Crystal Isle Safe Spawn
Is there a certain place that is considered a "safe" starting location? This is my first time playing this map and I keep getting killed while spawning in. I can literally see the animals in my face as Im doing the whole "arm scratching animation". I started up north and got killed by a pack of wolves. So I went to the three spawn locations south and got killed by a centipede as I was loading in. I went southwest and got killed by terror birds again as camera was out of my control on spawn in. Lastly I tried the middle south location, saw a titan boa coming for me right away, so took off down the beach and ran into scoprions who chased me into more terror birds. Is this just bad luck or is whole island a death trap? Dont take this for complaining. Id just like to get a start so I can look around the island a bit. Where do you guys usually start off at?

Edit: Now ravagers southeast lol. Strange location for those on a bright beach :D

I hear you. Started CI today, spawned in the north and immediately freezed to death (in daylight) and got killed by wolves several times (did I mention the T-Rex?). I like a challenge, but I'm wondering if there is a spot that is a little more forgiving. The Wiki does'nt seem to contain much at this point.

Best for me was southwest. Turn the spawn animation off in options.

I still haven't been able to find the option to turn off.

Southwest is the best place to spawn for sure.

Sorry thought I had changed it in options.
In gameusersettings.ini under server settings
PreventSpawnAnimations=True

south west is good but lacks the dino spawns so you will not see any rex's or sheep or beavers or anything like that there its mostle trikes and para's

South West and south east are the safest in my experience, while central isn't too bad. The white sands are pretty much one giant newbie beach, or at least it was in the mod version. East is the edge of the mushroom forest/swamp, only big things I've come across are basalisks. If you stay around the edge of the swamp/desert areas its fairly safe.

The center is a mixed bag, it can drop you anywhere from the amber forest where a lot of the bigger badder things live to peaceful little desert oasis.

grazie
Southwesr is safest. I keep my base there as well. I kept as close to the southern coast of the island approximately 85 17. Green ob is safest. Recently moved my base beside it. There is a swamp area near the green ob, so stay away from it. My original base was southern beach where I said, rarely saw any nasty dinos. Usually an occasional dopplesaur. Mostly trikes, turtles, dodos, parasaurs.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
