Compost Bin problems
Okay, so, I was having some random issues with my compost bins in my single player world. After doing some research I couldn't find a legitimate answer to my issue - only a bunch of weird speculation and arguments. I wanted to debase some of the myths out there, but I didn't want to necro old threads, so hopefully people can find this discussion via their Google searches.

1. Compost bins don't need irrigation, or any form of water. This was my first thought when I was setting up my compost bins and they wouldn't work. There was no clear answer on this, so I hope others struggling with this can Google search and find this thread.

2. You can mix different types of poop. I conducted a test to verify this manually. In one bin I put three different types of poop and in the other I put three of the same types of poop. Both ended up producing the fertilizer I needed.

3. You can fill up the inventory slots of your composting bin. Just make sure you have some thatch in there along with all the poop. You do not have to leave one slot open at the end - this is a myth and is simply not true. I tested this manually.

4. There is a bug that I am unable to test that some people mentioned. Every now and then, in random locations in Ark, some items simply won't function. No idea what can cause or rectify this issue, and obviously there's no way I can test it. However, I strongly suggest giving it at least 5 days in-game before assuming this is the problem. Most of the time I think it's our own impatience and frustration that causes us to think that something is broken - when, in reality, we just need to give it more time.

I hope this helps someone out there who was struggling with the mechanics of this strange item in Ark.

Happy farming, ya'll!
