you could also try the real game.
you know, on unofficial servers like a normal person.
PvP in Ark has ALWAYS been shallow and it always will. I love the game but there is no way I think WC capable of breaking away from Meta. Meta is the DEFINITION of shallow gameplay. Everyone doing the same thing over and over with the only change being who did it faster.
Base defense meta is currently "Build all the turrets" and raiding is "soak all the turrets" maybe limiting the number of turrets might change this (not very likely)
That fact that 1000 turrets is needed... is what has caused this issue in the first place.
this is full relese not the time to be messing with the game in this way
either way i dont cear since this game started charging 60+$ all they have done is crap in peoples faces and act like were still in beta or alfa
its a massive facepalm moment
Some people such as yourself just prefer being in the minority. Nothing wrong with that. Though given that there are 4k+ hours official only, 4k+ unofficial only, and 4k+ hours folks mixed, it does seem a bit silly to say that one is shallow compared to the other when one lacks knowledge and context.
But when one chooses to stay in a rank apartment in a city slum and refuses to freely move to the suburbs and gated communities, it does look a bit silly to be complaining about the smell and roaches.
You make it sound like a game in full release never rebalances, changes, has issues, etc... especially ones in active progressive development. WoW would thus beg to differ with you. :P.
But if you really want to see where the core flaw of things is, start by understanding all you're looking at are symptoms and not the cause. Once you begin to differentiate, you'll quickly see where the cause lies. Once you know that then, you can start to engange the game and its issues from a completely different perspective.
