BattlEye: bad service version
Windows 10 completed an update on about Monday. Since that update I have been unable to play Ark. After about 30 seconds, I am booted from Ark with a message “BattlEye: bad service version.” Single player Ark still functions properly.

Below is a list of things I have done.

Verified game files
Reset Windows 10
Reinstall the game
Install Ark on another drive
Reinstall Steam
Update video divers through Nvidia Experience
Delete BattlEye files from common and steamapps/ark...folder where BattlEye are located.

Anybody encounter these issues and found a way to fix it?

BattlEye still installed since you deleted the installation files and didn't use the method that ark has for uninstalling it, you can find out how to do this from searching this forum. I haven't had this issue

Those instructions did not work. I have deleted the files from both locations and deleted the registry by the command provided.

I checked windows update and it states I am completed up to date. I have turned off the firewall and windows defender to attempt to see if somehow they were blocking Battleye.

Sounds like there might be a conflict happening between the current version of Windows 10 you have and BattlEye resulting in the issue you have meaning BattlEye needs updating to resolve this issue, but I don't know the process to do this in regards updating BattlEye, search this forum or the official ark forums for help.

Close steam, navigate to
ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\BattlEye

Run the uninstall file and/or delete the folder and any left over files.
Open steam again, verify game files, this should reinstall battleye and potentially resolve your issue.

The above mentioned things didn’t really work for me. I had the issue recently again, and I can not pinpoint the exact solution.

I tried the game after a week recently and it worked. My 1080 graphics card had an update and I did it, then subsequently I was getting the same error message. At the same time I was messing with Windows 10 updates and manually turned off the service. I waited a couple days and turned the service back on, and no new video driver updates...game worked again.

It could be a timing issue with a new graphics driver and batteeye. I would find it strange that turning windows 10 auto updates off/on would effect it. I could troubleshoot more, but afraid to break it again and not be able to play again.

I did fresh window installs, reinstall games, update all video drivers...none of that fixed my problem when I had it.

It's been 4 days since I was kicked out of the server.
Anyone have a solution?
I have followed the way that the thread owner did everything.
