Jesus how do people have 11,000 hours in this game.
I did the math, 11,000 hours is 458 days about. If you stick to a gaming schedule of at most 10 hours, you would have to play this game 45-46 days with at least 10 hours. Work day is normally 6-8:00am to 3-5:00pm. Your given 5 - 7 hours if you devote your day to ark until 10:00 pm.

(5 hours for people with 8-5:00 pm schedule, 7 for those with the 3:00pm schedule)

now for people who play 10 hours, thats 5:00 pm to 3:00am, or 3:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Now i know some people dont have that kind of time, so like lets say 5 hours every day. That estimates to about 92 days of consistant 5 hour playing.

Like jesus christ i pre ordered ark and played the crap out of it. I did have school though, and i wasn't able to devote every waking moment to ark especially without friends. I thought i had a ton of hours in this game and now when someone has even more than me i feel like ♥♥♥♥.

Ark is my fav game second to terraria which i have about 500 or more hours on. How do i keep up this lifestyle if i need to work, eat and sleep healthily? 3 hours ark every day for years? People by then will have 22,000 hours on ark or something and be able to call me a noob.

I mean hell, sticking to just one game seems really weird unless its your soul game, and even then you might want to try other things out and get hooked. Only reason i can see someone having so many hours is because they are on a server and need to maintain their base every waking moment.

I have a friend who is kinda toxic but literally plays ark all day. I don't know how he does it, but every time i open up steam, even at 3:00am hes still playing. Hes still going. Its like i have to decide that i either get mental issues playing this game all day or mixing it up and looking like a total noob.

it can very much depend. How many of those hours were AFK hours. I think in your calculations you forgot weekends. you could easily play for 12 hrs straight and still have 4-6 hours before you went to bed on Saturday. Or heck, what about Friday night. Easily spend 6-7 hours playing and that is even AFTER working.

Some people on Official will afk in a Tek Sleeping pod to maintain an online presence. Not to mention they link the Parasaur to a Discord bot alerting them. Yes you have those people that actually play constantly.

You have those types of people with many games, not just Ark, but with Ark, the saying, 'No Lifer' is said for a reason. Just remember, it is not a competition and people are free to spend their time however they choose.

If only there was a way to keep track how many hours of TV people watch.

the game has been out for 5 years.

So 2200 hours per year.

365 days in a year means you would need to play about 6 hours a day to reach that.

That means it is actually achievable while having a life and maining the game.

And that is without weekends/days off vacations and the like.

But, the question may be..... Why?

In the early years, people left their characters on in game for various reasons. Also some people in families friends etc share a character and thus can be on longer. Official breeding and taming situations where they need to be watched are a good example.

Leave the computer on all the time with game running.

Have no life?

Paid a service to give you fake hours in Steam games.

Neet life - big game hours is possible with right amount of passive income and having no reason to go to work like a family. I would happily go to work but if I can't have a pretty blonde wife to help me cope with stuffy office politics and horrible bosses whats the point.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
