How do I forward Ports correctly so my friends can join my ARK-server?
Okay, I recently tried to set up an ARK dedicated server for me and my friends to play on. I wanted to do it with Steam CMD. Éverything worked fine, I set up the server following this tutorial on YouTube: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCAbuTh6YJw&t=3s".
To finish it off i forwarded the Ports that were necessary to be forwarded according to this internet page: "https://portforward.com/ark-survival-evolved/".
When I gave my friends the IP of the server they couldnt connect. I did some research, forwarded some ports and closed others. But my friends couldn't connect, no matter what I did.
I tried it as a DMZ Host and boom!, my buddies were able to join the server.
But what ports need to be forwarded so they can join? I don't want DMZ to be activated everytime I play ARK with them.

Thank you for help in advance!

So don't neglect the simple stuff, restarting the computer or router, waiting a solid 10 minutes, e.t.c.

Check your bat file for the correct port numbers.
There should be 2 (eg 7777 + 27017)
Forward 7777 as TCP and 27017 as UDP.

7777 is set as "port" and 27015 is set as "QueryPort".
Should I forward the ports instead of the ones I already forwarded or should I keep the the other ports forwarded too?

You should have a query port and server port if i remember correctly and the 7777. Something like 27015 and 27016 or similar. It has been years since I forwarded.

They should all be UDP. TCP is only used for RCON: https://ark.gamepedia.com/Dedicated_Server_Setup#Network

Also forward 7778

I already tried to forward the ports mentioned on the Wiki page, but none of the worked.
I did, however notice, that there is this "Use Interface" button when I forward ports. Currently "vULL-DHCP_0_651/atm3" is selected. Does this affect port forwarding or is it irrelevant?

Well that's where you could be going wrong. Don't forward any ports you find anywhere on the web. The ones you want to port are the ones in YOUR start up file that you use to launch the server.
There are 2 - port # and query port #
Forward those ones.

I finally found what caused the problem. It had to to with the "Use Settings" Option. Was pretty weird to figure out what it was but it seems like it was a preset that didnt allow to forward correctly.
I own the COMTREND VI-3223U and I changed the preset to ppp5.3, then it worked perfectly! (For everyone that has a similiar issue)
