How do I get GlobalSpoilingTimeMultiplier to take effect?
Hi community,

I've rented a server at g-portal.com for myself and a couple friends. I'm right now trying to increase the spoil timer so that I don't have to log in every single day just to gather food (especially Raw Meat) for my Dinos.

I have therefore edited the Game.ini from the /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer folder and changed the GlobalSpoilingTimeMultiplier to several values other than 1.0. I've tried: 0, 2.0, 3.0, 5.0, 10.0. 20.0 and 100.0. I've also made sure that the Game.ini begins with the line "[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]". Lastly, I have also edited the values for that same multiplier in g-portal's own UI. Afterwards, I have saved the settings every time and restarted the server.

So far, the changes I've made have never taken effect. Every time after I change the values, I log back in after the restart, jump on my trusty Baryonyx and eat an unsuspecting Dodo. Always, the spoil timer is 40min in Dino inventory, 10min in player inventory, 40min in Feeding Trough.

I have already googled extensively for solutions, but all I have gathered so far from that is: Lots of players have in the past reported this issue, lots of other players have offered solutions like the ones I described above (restarting, [/script...] line, etc.). Sometimes they seem to have worked, other times not. Most of the threads I've seen did in fact not end with any definitive statement.

So here's me, joining the ranks of this apparently time-honored tradition in Ark, asking you: How do I reliably get the spoil timer on my server to increase without using a mod?

Thank you all in advance. :)

Did you check to see if the ini file was being overwritten?

I did, yes. Every time I checked, it still had the value that I had entered before restarting the server and logging in again.

Ah okay, so Raw Meat spoils according to those timers and not the GlobalSpoilingTime one?

Hi, before you made the changes to the ini, had you saved your settings and restarted the server, t hen stopped it, and made your change?
