Is the Tek Suit supposed to protect you from radiation?

Hey uh, so I read all over the place that they added that tek armor protects from radiation, so I went into the ab radiation zone and lo and behold, I start rapidly dying. Made it out alive, but now I'm just kinda ticked off. Did they remove it? is everyone else having this same issue?

lol, no they don't. They give minor insulation against temperature and I think WC buffed it to protect from sunlight radiation on Genesis, but other than that radiation on Ab is going to kill you. I'm not sure the Tek Suit even protects you from standard hazards like gas or mushrooms like the Hazard Suit does.

Huh. I've looked it up and it says it did in the past.

pretty sure it's supposed to protect from radiation.. it did a couple months ago when i was on abberation., perhaps it's bugged or they changed it. can't find anything in the patch notes about it

Perhaps, I haven't been on Ab for a long time and it never protected you back then, they might have patched it in at some point I don't remember.

There's a few mods that upgrade the Tek Suit for hazard protection, some of them are super cheaty though, don't know which is best just for simple hazard protects.

it does, dont listen to others, if it doesnt work then its bugged so just unequip and put it on again or log out

it 100% does protect against radiation, i just went in the rad zone literally 10 minutes ago with tek. But there IS a bug where it doesn't work, you gotta upload then download the tek suit and reequip.

wtf? i wonder why it is working for some and not others..

edit: huh.. guess it's just buggy.. took the suit off and put it on again (which i tried earlier) and now it protects.. never had that problem before

Yeah.. I put element in each piece so it was 100% for each one and it worked, atleast in singleplayer. wtf, im gonna test in mp

Yeah I tested on my server too and it worked, my earlier post was incorrect. While originally it didn't protect you at all, they did patch the Tek Suit some while back to add the protection... funny thing I actually remember seeing all the forum posts whining about the bugs and having to restart to get it working, as Desknight and others mentioned.

There is a mod that adds rad protection to tek suit among other stuff. Highly useful

What I found ... If I use "E" to equip the suit it does snot protect me. If I drag and drop the items onto my guy it protects me. I had also added element on each piece 1st.
