Stuck in emote wheel

Since the new update I can't use my emote wheel. I need it in Aberration to quickly toggle the light pets on or off. I tried putting the emote wheel on different keys and it didn't change anything.
As soon as it's opened, it can't be closed. Clicking on the emotes doesn't do anything and holding the emote key doesn't help. I can still change weapons but that's it. Need to restart tge game then.

I don't know if OP already solved his problem, but for anyone trying to look for a solution:

I've tried everything I've found on the internet, to the point that we reinstalled the game thrice. The only thing that worked was formatting my girlfriend's computer. After making a clean install of windows and Ark, it worked just fine again.

Is that a lot of work? F%$k, it was... But I am stubborn.
