Constantly stuck on validating an updating.

This is a seriously stupid bug that no matter how many time i wipe the game and download again comes back after a couple of days. All that happens is it gets stuck on a 4.4gb update and wont launch.

Seems all my searches turn up a blank and all posts are filled with people explaining how bad the devs are for this game.

Sort it out please.

I tried wiping all my mods but with or without this issue comes.

Charging like they do for this game when it still feels like early access after 5 years is a bit of a scam.

Make sure your hard drive is not almost full, you may need to delete something to make room for the update.

And there is no way to cancel the update... I just want to play my SP game but NOOOO i am stuck in eternal update and creating a 200GB file ON TOP of the 170 GB installation path ON the system drive which has nothing to do with steam and filling up the drive. Time for someone to take responsibility.

I work in IT. First thing i did was check every forum for fix.

Cleared download cache.
Cleared more than 100gb on each of my drives(incase it stores temp files in other steam folder).
Deleted all Mods and DLC.
Wiped game from drive and Downloaded fresh copy.
Checked all drivers.
I backed up saves and started the game completely fresh.
Messed around with almost every steam download setting and cloud options.

The thing is it completes and then i try to run the game and the download starts again.

The issue is the terrible decisions being made by the developers who are responsible for pushing updates of such enormity, and forcing so much disk space usage on the player's device. It's absolutely terrible, the development team should be ashamed.

verify your game files, i had the same thing and hopefully yours hasnt deleted 150GB like mine did...

the only thing i have found to work is completely uninstalling steam, re installing and have that be the first game you download.

spent all day and night with this. it'd take 3+ hours to download 20gb, then an hour for install to fail.

solution was to download the game itself again. was able to download the 360gb in about 30 mins maybe an hour.

even its a old post, issue still remains, each time i restart stream or pc and launch the game it starts validating and it takes soo damn long time. i need to launch game hour before i want to play, thats not normal
