You didn't explore much of the Desert, didn't you? There is water all over the place and so are croc's.

If you are going to get upset over a few tames dying in a survival game, especially on one of the hardest starting maps, then this game is not for you my friend. I hear Farming Simulator is fun.

You know Crocs are found in Africa and Australia yeh?
NE Africa and most of Australia is desert!

As far as dealing with them. Use your eyes. Scout. Bring backup.
Use the terrain. Kill them with arrows.

Find a water vein and build the base there. You need to adapt.

you don't realize it yet, but if you stick with it you will. you're doing it to yourself. have to really notice your surroundings - if there's kapro spawns right where you're at, then build further away. make a fence and a barn, store your dinos inside the barn, the fence will keep distance to keep them out. look around you at all times and don't get too close and caught off guard. Its a survival game and everything wants to eat your face, game is working as intended :3 just hang in there, you'll get some traction and progress past them being much of an issue.

-as for dealing with them better. always wear a set of hide+ armor and carry a pike. When they grab you immediately start piking them in the face. Most of the time you'll survive, sometimes you wont.

thx man but i always wear desert clothes against the heat are desert clothes good enough? and thx for the tips tho :D

desert cloth should be fine too, more or less just meant have armor on so you don't die as fast.

Obviously the higher the armor value the better your chances of survival vs a kapro before you can pike its face to death.

Generally speaking, there are not many things in life that anger me. ARK is one fat exception. I hate things that can dismount me...

But with the Kapro...it gets even worse...Just last night I was on a Raptor, in broad daylight, and was moving past one of the many swamp areas and thought I was giving the swamp a wide enough berth to avoid the Kapros.

Well...I was until one jumped out of a pond behind me that I hadnt noticed, grabbed my raptor and just took off with it deeper in to the swamp.

Eventually the Kapro stopped running, then started running in circles, giving me a hard time hitting it.

Meanwhile, my raptor is just sitting there useless...with 5K hp, and just over 5K% melee, could easily one shot the Kapro...but of course the range of attack on the raptors is crap.

I mean, while spinning in circles, my raptor actually managed to one shot several things around the Kapro.

Well...being that it is single player...I now have Pegomastax, Troodon, Microraptors, and now Kapros completely disabled.

Why are their trexs in the snow? Oh right, they are all genetically engineered and can made to live in any environment.

There are deserts.... and there are deserts......... you know how the US has lots of desert.... but very little sand dune desert?

Kapros living in/near water.... fancy that.
