Whats the best Expansion? Also what is Genesis vs Season pass?

I bought the 16 dollar season pass.

I wanted to know what is the best Expansion to try out and i noticed i still dont own the "Genesis" season pass. Whats the difference?

The first Season Pass has Scorched Earth, Aberration and Extinction - all 3 are "Story Maps", even if SE doesn't really give you any "Ascension".

Genesis Season Pass is for Genesis Part 1 and 2 - the newer expansion. Which are meant to be played after you played the first one... if you go with the story...

Abberation. Beautiful map. Unique map mechanics. Cool new creatures.

The season pass includes scorched Earth, abberation, and Extinction. Genesis includes two parts, part one is already released, part two is supposed to release this winter.

On this playthrough, I ascended on the island, beat scorched earth, ascended on aberration, and am prepping for titans on extinction.. Aberration was my favorite, hands down. I love some of what I'm seeing from extinction so far, though. It has potential

The best dlc is Abberation. Ragonark does everything scorched earth does, but its easier to get a good level wyvern egg. Abby has so many good engrams unlocks and beating its boss can increase your max level. Ravengers are really good and easy to tame (They have such a high carry weight for their size). Climbing pick makes getting redwood sap a breeze. Hazard suit is great for not being affected by heat. Ziplines are useful.

Starting out though abberation is frustrating, easy to get lost, and where you can go is really restricted. Even just leaving abberation is hard until you've got like a good spino.

The light pet's from abby are really nice too. But one downside (Besides abby only dinos there and no flying) is that high tier kibble is so hard to get (And that many of the cooler late game tames can't breed.)

Best DLC map is easily Aberration.

Genesis pass is a separate DLC line, i believe only 2 "story "DLCs worth of content will be in that pass. Not really worth it IMHO, part 1 is severely underdeveloped and not worth the $17 unless you can abuse the DLC and upload/download to the map.
