I have in fact updated the server. I did it 4 times and after each time i waited till fully loaded and steam could see my server. Then i opened Ark and went to my favorites and it was not there despite steam being able to see my server. I then tried to log into my server view the steam window you get to when you go to view, then servers and then clicking on the loaded server that shows active in my favorites list. It then informs be that it can not connect to server once the game loads in. Also sorry it is a unofficial private server that i rented from Host Havoc.
I am currently trying to find if it did update to 310.11 but i am having trouble locating it on the info panel on the host havoc site. I may in fact be blind to it since i seem to never find what i am looking for despite it being right in front of my face, but i will keep looking. Thank you for the suggestion.
with due respect if that happen every single time, you might want to reconsider your method of updating or the whole admin thing.
Just saw you're using host havoc, then you just need to ask you this, how comes nearly everyone hosting ARK themselves does not run into problems every single update?
You do make a good point. What service would you recommend, i tried Survival Servers but did not enjoy that one bit. But those are the only two services.
Can't recommend any of them due to no experience with them at all, always hosted Servers on my own hardware. But that's why i can say from experience that there is rarely a problem with updating.
As long as someone is willing to learn how to set it up and maintain it, sure. But for your average person, hosting their own server is just too much of a chore and it's worth the $10-$40 a month for a more simplified experience, though if this is a common occurence with your host, might be worth going with a different option OP. I run my own server and definitely recommend it, but only if you're interested and willing to put in the additional time to learn the ins and outs of doing things yourself.
well at least on a windows machine the use of the ArkServerManager flattens the learning curve, on self hosting and maintaining, drastically. You get an UI, MouseOver Tooltip, automated ARK and Mod Updates (with in-game notifications) with the option to backup Serverfiles. Basically everything you need is covered with out learning anything, you just need to read.
Well comes at the price of being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if it comes to troubleshooting when something went wrong tho.
the server patch number should be right there on your server control panel

Hello ******,
Please make sure your server files are fully validated.
Server file validation:
Please stop the server.
Open the file manager.
Once opened, locate and delete the steam apps folder.
Once deleted, please run the Server Files Update icon from within your panel.
Thanks,

After that i ran the update tool which took ages but actually cleared up the problem. I do very much thank you all for your help and suggestions. I will definitely be looking into some of you cool suggestions. Thanks again.
I use ASM and my server hasn't been working since the update. do you perhaps know how to fix this? don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I'm at the end of my rope
Is ASM a server rental service. If so you may want to try there tech support so that they can delete the file that my server tech suggested. Then reupdate your server files like your doing a normal update. That was the only thing that worked for me, unfortunately with my very limited knowledge that's the very limit of my usefulness in said matters.
