Tek Cave Advice
So my wife and I are planning on taking on the Tek Cave, and we could pretty much run through the other bosses without much issue. Yet we're super intimidated by the Tek Cave. I am not worried about the boss at the end, nor am I actually worried about my dinos dying to the super high level dinos in the cave. What I am worried about is since there is only two of us managing them and keeping them from falling in the lava sounds like it will be a nightmare.

We've watched videos titled "Solo Tek Cave EASY!!!" and unfortunately we can't seem to replicate their strats. In Single-Player we've been practicing so we can spawn things in, and man it hasn't gone well.

I guess cryopods don't work. I was hoping to toss down a few Gigas of ours but won't let us.

We tried gliding to the end using gliders but we both lack the skill to successfully pull that off. Crash into a wall or part of the ceiling and now we're mince meat.

Using the Archa...whatever they're called..gliding chickens. For some reason they won't descend. I know you can press R and make them descend but then they descend too quickly and again..food for dinos below.

What are some strats, tips, or advice for two people to get through this cave? I assume I am going to have to become a Whistle Master or Dino Whisperer to get through this.

Take a few high-level tames with you, proceed cautiously and somewhat slowly into the cave. Emphasis on "Cautiously," because all it takes is one Allosaurus to aggro behind you, and push your tames off a ledge and into the lava.

It says you can take up to 50 dinos, but that seems excessive. No way I could manage that many with just the two of us. How many do you recommend I take? Is it possible, without cheating, to get a Giga in there? We have pretty strong Gigas so one would probably clear everything out while the rest just casually stroll behind.

I've taken only my lv 315 TEK Rex and just her alone, but this was on my Single Player game. I had really high rates for my Single Player session, so my dinos can inflict a phuq-ton of damage; my TEK rex could 1-shot a lv 190 Giganotosaurus. I tried not to pump TOO much into the melee to make the boss fights last just a bit. I ended up using a total of 17 bites to destroy the Overseer.

Yeah we're not going to be one shotting any 190 wild Gigas anytime soon. lol We have 50/50 bred Rexes with ascendent saddles though. Made short work of Ragnarok boss. Some of our Rexes have over 100K health while others have 40K health with approx 2K melee

With only 1 or 2 people we just used awesome teleported mod.... then all you need is for one of you to get to the trek portal and to your boss fight Dino’s to there.

Haha cheeky, but we have that mod installed too. I never even considered using that. Now the question is...how in the flip do I get down there solo without getting my face bitten off?

hahahaha damn, I am glad I asked. That is pretty OP but considering there is only two of us, and my wife is more of a "casual" gamer, I am already at a rather large disadvantage. So OP strats are the way to go.

Clear the way ahead with some good tames and then go back up to lead your long line of boss fighters down without getting them in trouble. Have each individual boss fighter follow the one in front of it like a conga line.

My son and I took two rexes to ride, 16 theris, a yuty and a daeodon. Theris following each other in a line is doable if you are careful. I would not take any rexes that weren't being ridden because I personally could not keep them from going into the lava. I also took 10 dimorphs and picked them up with cryopods before teleporting to the overseer. Use the rexes to go ahead and clear the path. The only part where we almost didn't make it was getting them all through the teck cave entrance in 5 minutes. We cleared it with about 2 seconds.
