Can giga walk over metal Spike ?
Or will he stop and fight against it because it hurts him ?

Yup i tried different strategy to defend my base so i put 3 high pillars and a ceiling on top of them and placed metal spike on it so i made high place defence for him cuz i lived near its spawn point. After that i logged in tomorrow i saw some clever guys lured it into my base and somehow it got in. Aaaand yes i lost my thousand gameplay from this. Deleted the game. ;) so take care about it. Btw it was pve server.

Spike wall against base of a wall is bad vs giga. The giga can use the spike wall as a step then up over walls 3-5 high.

If it's only a spike wall the giga can step over like it's not even there

you dont need spikes vs. wild dinos.

build a wall out of behemoth gates and your safe.

Anything less than 5 wall pieces high will not keep your tames safe ...

This exactly what happened to my base. Its used spike wall as a step.

Btw luring wild things into someone elses bases still an issue on pve servers ? Im thinking of redownload the game. But dont want to lose my things again.

Matriarch then play on unofficials with people you know/trust or host your own.

Wht i did was put a row of spike on the ground. Behind it i put foundations and spikes on the foundations. Then backed it all with walls. So 1 spike sits on 2 foundations. So 2 wide means 4 foundations. This raises the level of the spikes in the back and backs it with 2 high walls. Even if they walk over the first set they getted trapped in the second and in behind the walls. I cant speak for gigas but yuttys have a hell of a hard time.
Also try using wood spikes. They dont tame as much damage but... They stop rexs and yuttys for sure. I do need to fix them or change them once a week.

Just build 6 high walls if you have wild gigas in the area

Do spikes damage wild dinos on PVE? I have not used them in a long time. I remember them not doing damage though.

Yes they do

it's actually all based on a server setting whether it will do damage or not... in all case it should be able to destroy the spikes.. or use them as a step. Maybe try doing a large wall with ceiling pieces as ledges, then place spikes on each ceiling. That was it will be a vertical wall of metal spikes.

Oohb they wild can demo them for sure. But in every case i have seen they do damage. Infact after a few minuts Direwolves will be killed by attacking spikes
