Any Tips for the Carno island cave?
I decided to take me and a tribemate with 2 high LVL kapros and JM flak and Ascendant Riot gear into the cave. I had been there before, and there were only onycs flying in the main chamber. However, I glitched through the bottom of one of the ledges and ended up at the bottom of the cave. It was like Kin Kong down there! there were SWARMS of Spiders and Scorpions, HUGE numbers for even cave standards. I managed to kill a good amount of them before i was overcome by their numbers, plus the onycs.

I respawned, and took me and my tribemate, who had his JM flak still on, with 2 high-LVL wolves.
The mission was to get the Riot gear back. I did well at first until we met the onyc swarm and were completely overwhelmed.

So, I learned 2 things: don't bring mounts, and numbers are key. last time i was in there, there wasn't a huge swarm of bloodthirsty insects at the bottom of the pit either. and also, was it just me, or were all the bats clinging to the side of the cave? have any of you noticed any changes in the cave, and most imprtantly of all, do you ahve any tips for me?

Hide cloth, bug repelant, crossbow + many grappling hooks, parachute or two, eventualy also shield and sword or bow with arrows to aggro things away from loot. Try to not aggro everything, keep running. You may need some stimulant, healing potion. Your goal is to do this cave the fastest you can, because cold will kill you fast.
You can do this cave even naked and alone, but you need to have luck and know how to jump.

terror bird imprint with a rocket launcher worked well for me. Bring some grappling hooks incase it goes wrong.

take a swarm of dimorphs with you. Not sure if that still works but last time i went i took 20 or so dimorphs and they obliterated everything. No problem at all. You just have to swim them through the water part one at a time on your shoulder.

3 of us went in with shotguns and bows.
1 member tanked with a riot shield and decent sword.
All 4 had ramshackle flack.
from the very top of the drop we used the bows to take out bats from distance....when they got too close the tank stabbed them and a few extra shotgun blasts cleared them all.
We then built a platform and a ladder straight down to the floor.
All 4 players descended at once with the tank first.
When we hit the floor all hell broke lose in a frenzy of swords and shotgun blasts.
Just make sure you keep eating medical brew as hordes of mobs start chewing on you!

Pretty much this... 2 wolfs for carno and swamp caves, 2 rexes for snow caves...

I use my Pteranodon when you get to the water part set it on follow and eventually glitch through to the other side.

I raised an high lvl argy in that cave a long time ago (before imprinting was even in), it was a pain to hatch the egg there, constantly adding/removing heat (PVE, you cant build there, so you need several ppl with torches and a little army of penguins).
But after i did that i had an unlimited flow of artifacts (i used them as lighsource for my base, today thats not neccessary anymore bec. we can paint light bulbs, well, at least its a matter of taste now).
