S+ storage box won't place

I am trying to place a S+ storage box in my base and it keeps saying "Can't place S+ storage box : Can't place on floor" but when i go outside i can place it. Anyone know why and how I can fix this?

P.s i even tried taking the roof off and that didn't work.
P.P.s it is now doing it with anything i pick up

There are settings in INI files that prevent placement of things in resource-heavy areas or in a certain radius around where supply drops land, so maybe it's something like that? Are you near, or in, a cave? I can't think of anything else, sorry.

No, i am playing Ragnarok with my base on a little cliff. i was able to build it just fine then it just started doing that,

P.s i am not near any drops

Does it also do it with vanilla building pieces ?
Just to rules out any potential S+ related issues, also are you using any other mods, or have you recently notice\experienced a reset of volume levels or graphics settings in-game ?

Sharing a screenshot of the area might also help pin the issue down, if possible with the map open or a GPS in hand.

1. Its not just for drops but also ruins and other similar things that Ragnarok detects as being not allowed.

2. We just had a mindwipe globally done for most people's characters a week or so ago. This means you also unlearned all engrams. In some instances, this means that you are unable to use/access some containers or other items unless you have learned the recipe, even if you already have the item or the item placed.

3. If 1 or 2 are still not applicable, I suggest verifying local game files over and over, back to back until you get the message that 0 files need to be redone. Its possible you had a corrupt file from all the updates we've been getting that made an issue too.

If 1-3 do not resolve the issue then we can look at other variables after that.

yes it also does it with vanilla structures.
p.s i was trying to use SEL mod And immersive taming but i am not.

i even tried taking the S+ mod off and its still doing it with the vanilla

cordinates are ~ 17 LAT 22 LONGITUDE

I'ff just been to the location you mentioned, and wasn't able to find anything in-game that could cause this.

But when looking at the explorer map on the wiki, that area is very populated with supply drops.
So it could be related to not being able to build next to supply drops, but i cant confirm atm as i'm playing on said map, so i would need to do more in debt testing tomorrow.

i have built my base there before on my Xbox and on my dads computer(before i got my own copy) with out any problems.

While that might be true, like i said above the place it littered with supply drops, i just picked one up around the mentioned cords .... like almost right on top of it actually.

The problem for some people with the PC version atm, is that settings seems to reset with updates and file verification, so i recon that is what happend.

My visitors are gone now, so i could test this in a minute, but im almost 100% certain atm that its related to supply drops and not having it set to allow building in those area's (or not having PvE enabled, since its a PvE specific config .. i think atleast).

because i tried deleting map data and it still wasn't working it doesn't show that there is a loot drop.

To fix this, you will need to edit the .ini files (not sure why this is not a in-game option, could have sworn it used to be).

The file your looking for is located here, and is called "GameUserSettings.ini":

\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\

Right click Ark in your library -> manage -> browse local files, this should start you off in the Ark folder.

These lines you need to add below the "[ServerSettings]" part of the file:

PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=true
AllowCrateSpawnsOnTopOfStructures=true

The first line will enable building in said area, the second will make the make the crates still appear on top of any buildings that could potentially be blocking it.

Now if you know how to get rid of the Message of the Day.

I was messing with un-dedicated server on THE CENTER and message of the shows up on my single player worlds.

i keep tying to clear message of the day and clicking refresh and it reverts back to the previous message.

Same file, look for (likely near the bottom of the file):

[MessageOfTheDay]
Message=YourMessage

Remove those 2 lines, where obviously "YourMessage" is what ever you had set ;-)
Also with the client closed, else it will reset again when you close the game :-P
