Ascention on TheIsland - How does it work?

I was wondering if someone could explain to me how the ascentions work on the default map 'TheIsland'.

From what i am aware you must defeat the three bosses (i.e. Broodmother) and then ender the Tek Cave and eventually fight the overseer, however ive noticed there are achievements for doing this at different difficulties / levels, these being Gamma, Beta and Alpha.

I was wondering if someone could explain how you would go about doing each ascention, In order to do the beta ascention do you have to have done it on gamma first? can you just do beta straight away with some other pre-requirements?

If someone could let me know how it works it would be much appreciated. (Please note that i am not wanting the achievements therefore please dont just recommend using the admin commands to unlock each of the ascention levels and achievements.)

Gamma is just the easiest and gives you only +5 level.
You can start directly on Alpha and if u manage it it gives you +15 level.
Dont have to do Gamma beta alpha.

This doesnt apply for Extinction tho since you need the gamma thropy to do beta and beta to do alpha.

in order to unlock the cave into overseer ascension you need each the head of broodmother, megapithicus, and dragon.

All bosses in Ark have 3 difficulties - gamma (easy), beta (medium), and alpha (hard).

Ascension is specifically overseer (and later in Aberration DLC another 2nd ascension boss).

So if you want to get all 3 achievements for gamma, beta, and alpha ascension - you would have to do each boss (spider, monkey, dragon) on all levels to unlock the ascension cave on each difficulty.

Skipping to Alpha of all bosses and ascension will award all things gamma/beta would give, plus more. So you really only HAVE to do it once on alpha, unless you want all achievements.

If you go straight for the alpha level, you get all the loot and engrams you would get from the beta and gamma levels. I'm not sure if you get all the trophies, though.

You must fight the Broodmother, the megapithicus, and the dragon. If you ascend at the gamma level only, you will need only fight these bosses at the gamma level. However, if you fight higher levels, you will need the trophies from higher level boss fight.

After all this you do the tek cave and the overseer to ascend.

There are many youtubers that have done videos on all these fights. I would recommend Phlinger Phoo if you are playing single player. I don't know the admins commands but they are available on the game wiki. Learn to use the wiki, youtubes, and the dododex. It will make all this much easier.

Megapithecus, Broodmother, and Dragon on the same difficulty (Gamma -> Beta -> Alpha)
Their heads are the 'artifact' part of entering the volcano's Tek Cave to get to the bottom, tele up and kill the Overseer of that difficulty.

You can skip to Alpha on all of them and get all of the unlocks, and +15 levels, but you don't get all of the achievements unless you do all of the difficulties.

After Island is Scotched Earth, which just has the Manticore Arena on 3 difficulties, with no Exit to-map select.

After that is Aberration, where you'll probably spend a lot more time in prep... then you go down to the depths and tele in to face Rockwell in his ... tentacle form.... I guess..
3 difficulties for ascension and levels on each - again, skipping to Alpha will get all 3 ascensions but not the achievements.

Then you move on to Extinction.
I don't remember if there's an ascension from the King Titan on extinction... but you'll be weeks(at least) getting to that point, so you'll have more than enough time to find out. ;)
