Best starting place for ragnarok?
Ive seen many posts about this, mostly i see highlands, specifically NE and E, but one problem with NE highlands is there jis NO HIDE. No easy dinos to kill for hide, so what is the BEST spawning location in ragnarok for beginners? Im a noob at ark, need a nice easy spawn please, thanks.

Northwest near Blue Obelisk.... Any of the 3 spawn areas there. I always spawn there whenever there is a server wipe and we restart.

Would you mind telling me why you like it? that would be lovely.

I do agree with starting around near blue obelisk. Mainly because there aren't many threats. Worst you could possibly find is a Therizino, otherwise, it's mostly your typical beach dinos. There's also a good number of resources located near blue obelisk, especially metal.

If anyone else is looking for spawn location for beginners, I have decided to go with highlands NE, hide nearby, highlands nearby, trees and such nearby, it’s a perfect spawn to start until you get fur armor to stay warm at night! And, of course, a base!

You might regret it. There is a nasty spawn there than can wipe your whole base and a very dangerous cavern right next to the biome.

There is plenty of hide in the highlands... Sheep give a ton of hide, even with a stone hatchet.
Rush level 10, tame an Equus and knock one sheep out, kill it and then harvest it for hide and mutton.

Highlands can be dangerous, so I wouldn't advice staying there long, but if you get an equus and build a small base up to metal tools, then get couple pteras with all the mutton and then you can leave. Upload the Equus at a drop and then fly to wherever you want to go.

Then why not just start in a place that is safer?

I really go like the fact that you can get an Equus there immideatly and tame couple pteras with mutton, also has every resource relatively close by.

I wouldn't start out in the highlands unless you're prepared to lose everything to a giga.

Oh didn’t know. By drop you mean obelisk right?

I get the equips is good, but would anyone mind telling me what NOT to tame with the equus? Because I figured don’t take trikes cause of their armor on head.

Because you can get basic resources there, in good amounts. Such as crystal, metal, dinos, especially the Equus.

Or just any drop there tbh. There are quite a few.

And I wouldn't advice to tame anything but pteras with it. They can take on allos and trikes, but it depends too much on level/stats and saddle and if you're just starting out it will be too risky imho.
