How to see base dino stats?
So I've recently been trying to wrap my head around the breeding mechanics, but one thing that makes it difficult is that I can't seem to find a way to see the base dino stats. I know from the wiki that offspring have a 70% chance of acquiring the higher stat from each parent, but I don't know how to check the parent's base stats. All I can see are the total stats after modifiers and level ups which isn't terribly helpful. So is there a way to see just the base initial stats so that I can choose optimal pairs for breeding?

Yes.
Check and record the level and stats when the dino is knocked out during taming.
Do this again when the dino wakes up tamed and has the increased levels and taming bonuses.

The taming bonuses make it "difficult" to reverse engineer what the original stats were by just looking at a partially leveled up dino.

What I do if I want to keep track is write down the base stats and wild level during taming then after tame go into it's inventory and create new folders and name them with the stat and the base amount for said stat. You'll never need to wonder again. GG

Get into the habit of making folders with each stat right after a dino is tamed but before you spend any points on it.

If you don't record them before you spend points, it makes extracting the base stats more difficult. Deduction is possible (like Sherlock Holmes) but not 100% accurate and might take several breeding cycles.

So whats more important now...the dino stats when knocked out or when tamed but not leveled up??

Thanks for the replies, but that's pretty terrible. Lots of tedium when all they had to do was have a tooltip detailing the base stats when you hover your mouse over the current stats.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this but there is a PC desktop program that will calculate the base stats for you regardless of how many levels you have put into the dino. It also serves as a library of all your breeding stock and allows you to organise breeding pairs to produce best offspring.

Google "Ark Smart Breeding". Most serious breeders are using it.

Started to use it a few days ago as I wanted to begin breeding super dinos, it's awesome and powerful.
