The White Whale!

So, my friends and I have been playing on a dedicated server PvE that we rented and we put the dinos up to level 300 and have a 1.5 dino multiplier going. We are fairly new to the game, so it is a fun experience! We recently discovered the island in the top north east of the map that we dubbed "Nope island." with nothing but carnivores covering the place, but we dediced it was time to build upon the area with generators and what not.

The problem being, that our main base with all of our dinos was to the south east/west of the map all the way across the world. Now, we could of easily flown there, but we chose ot use the raft, or rather I did. I've heard horror stories of what lies in the deep of the game "We haven't gone there yet due to no oxygen tanks. Level 75 so far! So close to scuba gear!" and well, I heard a grunt behind me and to my surprise, it was a whale! He wasn't after me though, he wanted the raft!

I scurried to shore and avoided any further raft like injuries and decided it best to stay near the coast line. However, in the midst of the night, I kind of strayed too far from the cost, just outside of where our base was stationed. What happened next could be deemed fast enough to be equal to a snake bite. A giant white and red foggy whale overtook the boat and placed the raft on its backside! I was unaware Moby ♥♥♥♥ was in the ark, but he was alive and well!

The raft took a shot for 10080 damage! I was shocked it didn't snap in two! However, the second hit surely took the raft as well as the crafted storage and the whale disappeared just as soon as it appeared back into the depths of the blue! What happened to me? I was left to swim to shore in the midst of the night, when behind me I heard quite the loud sound. The slapping of the water was not the waves behind me and it was constant and loud and only getting louder. My friend asked if I needed assistance and I told him as fast as he could would be nice! He found me swarmed by megaladons and the only thing keeping me alive at that point was the pants that did not break in the encounter.

I escaped to shore with a little over 20 health out of 310 left and limped my way up the path way to our base and jumped on the dino I went home to get in the first place both in the means of seeking vengance and completing my task I set for myself. So, my friend took one of our other rafts out and sure enough, WAM! The white whale struck again! However this time, we were ready. We took a few hits on him and he hit back, but being as cowardice as the creature was, he swam right for the bottom of the ocean, disappearing in that blue abyss once again. We licked our wounds on the top of the water, when the dastardly thing struck again! My friend pleaded for my mount as he was floating with a broken leg.

I gave up the safety of my mount and fought in the water for a moment. The sight of that white beast coming right at us was both exciting and ultimately terrifying. We took some more shots and he ran once again, but this time...he didn't come back. So, we gave chase. No where to be found? My friend gave me my mount and I returned to my task of getting it back to the new base, when out of the corner of my eye did I see the flopping of a tail. The injured foe was close enough for me to move down and take a nibble...so I did and he followed. Swirling and flailing, biting as he did so he tried to stop me, but it was no use. The white whale fell dead and the capatain's hat was obtained and the raft was avenged!

As I swam away, I decided to stay on land the rest of the way up there, well, as long as I could anyways and the old movie quote popped into my mind "Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water." Bravo Ark devs, you created a truely heart pounding experience.

Was white, which is why I said white whale =P. I know it was an alpha.

I loved that story! Sounds fun, I've never encountered an alpha whale though :( I have, however, just killed 2 alpha wyverns.. was fun, love the wyvern gloves skin ^-^

Haven't played on scorched earth yet! plan to though and thanks for the compliment!
