Waterfalls and building
Everytime I attempt to build what amounts to a bridge through a waterfall (ragnarok map). I have a cave under a waterfall with an opening that goes through the waterfall but I have attempted to build through this waterfall 2 times and all the parts get destroyed. I have built a HUGE pillar all the way to the bottom and it didnt help.

Is this impossible or am I doing something wrong? If this is supposed to happen that sucks because it would be super cool to be able to do that.

What the exact location? Some areas are no build areas

well I was able to build in the area all around this waterfall (I dont know how to tell the exact spot). But let me try and describe the spot.

Ragnarok map: Roughly in the middle there is a spot that looks like the grand canyon with a ♥♥♥♥ load of waterfalls. There is this canyon that leads to this area that has fog all the time and black land bridges. Just after that canyon (leading to the waterfall grand canyon area) there is a cave that goes through the mountain (like a tunnel) and had a exit behind a waterfall.

So I built inside this cave and everything in there so far is fine save the ceilings I attempt to put through the actual waterfall itself. I am using stone ceilings (S+) and have a pillar 1 ceiling behind so its not a matter of not having enough foundation or whatever.

I am hoping that I am doing something wrong because I would really like this to work, not least of which because I spent 1000s of stone getting to this point.

So you can place them? if so its not a no-build area.

Is it possible that fish are agroing each other and destroying the posts / foundations? i know it sounds wierd but it could happen. Maybe build a good stone wall around the pillars or use stone till above water? if your already using stone then just ignore my silly advise :P

Screenshots or a video may help us understand.

S+ structures do not follow the 'no build zone' rules. You can place them almost anywhere. BUT when the server reboots (or single player reloads), all zones that are marked as no build get 'cleaned up' and the S+ structures in 'no build zones' get removed.

I recommend always testing a base location with a normal non-modded foundation before creating a base.

Can you place a normal vanilla foundation there?

uhh i dont think thats correct, im not talking about the no-collision here we are talking about an area the dev 'coded' for no structures, while i havent actually tested it i would assume you can not even place a structure in these areas (S+ or not) but guess i could be wrong.

Has anyone tried to build in the volcano? can you place structures in it?

Trust me, there are many spots on the ragnarok map where you are allowed to place a S+ foundation but not allowed to place a normal one (both with zero clipping) and the S+ ones disappear after a reboot if placed in theses spots

Even more spots if the server uses the setting
EnableExtraStructurePreventionVolumes=true
(cause the S+ mod maker can't have his mod check theses locations as its not in the dev kit yet)

On the island, its appear only spots marked protected by EnableExtraStructurePreventionVolumes=true are ignored by S+ foundations but not sure how the dev's did the ragnarok map but there are a lot of no build zones ignored by S+
(Would of been nice if the OP had said he was using a modded server at the start)

ok well im not saying your wrong im just saying unless thats intentional (which i doubt as it would be much easier to exclude the area entirely) it must be a bug or glitch

Hi! Thanks for all the replies. I am on a buddies server so i dont know if its a "modded server". We are using mods on it and have upped some values (gathering and taming).

I am super new to the game so please forgive my ignorance. Looking at the replies it seems to be a no build zone, which is very annoying.

Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Like disabling no build sones or something?

I really want to build out here so it would be nice.

Also i will try to get a screenshot/video tonight

If you're using mods, then of course it is a modded server.
