Ragnarok won't install *FIXED, SOLUTION BELOW*

The DLC itself is in my library but the download/install button straight up won't work. I've heard of other people having this issue as well, so is there any way to solve this? Is it a Steam thing or an ARK thing?
*EDIT* I found the solution to all you that can't download it. Hover over Library and click downloads on the bottom. Then you'll find a button on the right that says that ARK can be updated. Do that and you should have it installed!

maybe uncheck and recheck it in your Library? Does it say Installed there? we are talking about the check box in your 'main' library in steam (under the Acheivments) when you select the game right? where the official DLC is shown not in the workshop (its not a mod per say anymore, its an official DLC)

It says it's not installed but the check mark is there. The whole thing is faded, which probably means not installed. It's there but Steam just denies its existence otherwise.

I've browsed through the reviews for Ragnarok and may have found a solution. I went over to the library and clicked downloads underneath it. It prompted for an update to ARK and is currently in that process. Hopefully it works...

yea its flaky, i had trouble too. First make sure its not actually installed - it will show with Maps (where you would select SE or TheIsland) not on Total Conversions or mods. If it isnt there you wont be able to load into the map even if it shows the map in the list.
If that doesnt work just keep checking / unchecking install and restarting steam till it starts downloading. its a good size dl so you will see the dl bar at bottom of steam

If you downloaded the workshop Version of Ragnarok unsubscribe from it and it should start downloading right after.

for me it says that it is installed yet i have no file for it and when i try to join a server my game crashes.

just adding here if you ever crash loading rag redownload it and validate steam files,problem should be gone also one more thing if you ever get stuckin a "snapshot" 15/16/7 ect, exit steam go to A:\steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\LocalProfiles and delete the save file in there,you will lose your map knowlage and your single player game if you had one but this will fix the snapshot loading bug

redownload Rag and validate steam files i had this problem a few days ago

The download button is broken, but the map is just a workshop item, so go to the workshop page and click the subscribe button to download it!

omg ty!

I tried thousands of fixes but nothing worked until this one. So I went to Download and what ya know there was a big fat update download just sitting there. Idk why it was sitting there? Maybe it does that? Maybe cause I run Metered connect to prevent MS from forcing it's downloads at inconvenient times (game lag and disconnects). I downloaded it and it took forever.

While I did that I cleared more memory on my PC just in case. Tho I've got a gaming computer with lots of free space. I got rid of some art programs that were pretty bulky since I only work with Blender these days.

Then the download was finished but I did not launch.

Instead I went to front page and unchecked everything in Ark Survival's check box list. Waited a bit. Then rechecked all of it. Then went to the downloads page again.

There was an even fatter download full of gigabytes for me. I passed out and slept thru this one it was so big.

Also I went into settings and changed Steam's preferred hours for updating. Hopefully to prevent future problems. It was not set yet cause I never messed with that before.

When I woke up I clicked the server in Ragnarok I have been trying to get into. Basically the very first one that loaded with people in it. AND DANG I'M IN!

I have been playing TheIsland for almost a year now exclusively because I was not able to get into any of the DLC's. Seriously, being a Steam user of many multiplayer games I can say some days I want to whap Valve with a switch (the tree twig not Nintendo).

So basically you're saying that the problem you complained about several days ago was actually solved? I remember very clearly how mad you were about not able to download dlc and thought it was WC's fault, when it was actually your fault for not clicking a button to download it.
